This place is very well managed and super clean. The food is above average for fast food dine-in fare. The coffee menu is really solid. The desserts are priced a bit too high, but you can buy a pastry for .99 cents with most meals. They mainly have sandwiches, flatbreads, soups, bagels, and pastries. They also have assorted breads to go. Everything other than the pastries is priced appropriately and the portions adequate.
I usually have a tuna sandwich or the chicken and wild rice soup. You can get the soup in a bread bowl, which makes for a really filling lunch. I will sit for a few hours working on my laptop and never get bothered. They are sometimes slow on cleaning empty tables, but they also stay very steady with business. Don't be surprised to have four orders in front of you.
The front staff are very friendly. You may order at digital pads near the door, but I always order at the counter so I can customize my choices. You receive a pager and can grab a table and relax. Some tables have outlets available for laptops, and there is complimentary wifi with good speeds.
When your pager goes off, you go to the pickup counter to get your food. If there is two trips worth, one of the staff usually offers to help (sigh, I always order too much) or is very willing to help if requsted.
The flatbread pizzas are big enough for two people. The tomato soup is tasty but needs crackers. The hot sandwiches are tasty, but the bread a bit too hard. They bake authentic French baguettes, which have thicker hulls than Americans are used to. I enjoyed the chewy hard-shelled bread when in France, but somehow it doesn't fit right locally. The mac-n-cheese is very tasty. All meals come with choice of baguette, apple, or chips. The apples tend to be very small, and only plain chips in a bag.
This is a great place to dine-in or takeout, and they also use several delivery services. The turn-around time for food is average, but if you order a drink or dessert, they get that to...
Read moreThis Panera has a lot going for it. First, the staff is wonderful. The facilities are well maintained and clean. The service is overall respectful, attentive, and timely.
The main reason that I wanted to leave this review is to highlight something that a lot of people won't ever know about--that I recently observed. During a cold rainy day with heavy downpours, I saw the staff offer a young man with a mental handicap the opportunity to come in out of the rain--rather than continue to hang out outside around their facility. The staff gave him a snack (free of charge) and permitted him to stay out of the rain until a family member arrived.
For this showing of kindness and respect, I am going to continue to be a patron of this establishment for a long time.
The facilities are clean and well maintained--especially in light of their unique, locational challenges. The facility's proximity to Rosedale Mall (and its transit hub) does attract some loitering and vagrency--that other suburban locations don't have to deal with. This surpirses some who come in from outer ring suburbs. But, the staff is well equipped to handle those issues in humane and respectful ways. Restrooms are coded to prevent overutilization of their facilities. Personally, I've never really been bothered by those issues, while I've been working. I mention this though because those issues may bear on the minds of others (and are worthy of note).
Wi-Fi is strong. Range and quality of drink options is very good.
I usually don't do food here--not because it's bad--but because there are so many other options nearby. So, I won't comment on...
Read moreI ordered ahead of time online, giving a time that I would be there to PU. I received a text 30 mins. before that my order was ready. I called the store and told them I was concerned that my order would be sitting for that long (soups, sandwiches, salads, etc...). She said, "I have never had anyone complain because their order was ready early." Ummmmm, I paid $53.00 + for this order and I don't want old soggy food or cold soup. AND I just gave you all a $5.00 Tip and you are going to talk to a customer that way?! I picked up and the soup wasn't in the bag, I asked them for the soup, the bag I was holding ripped all the way down the side and food fell everywhere. I asked for a new bag. I arrived at my destination 10 mins. later and the food was horrible. Tomato soup tasted worse than Campbells in a can and the Greek salad could have tasted ok, but the pepperoncini was rancid and ruined the whole salad. I was left with a chuck of bread that was stuck in the bag with the 2 containers of soup, unwrapped with no butter or anything to put on it...... In the trash it all went. The broccoli cheese soup is usually so good, but this was like water, like they didn't stir it or maybe it sat in the paper bowl for too long? The turkey bravo would have been good except the bread was soggy because you all made it 30 mins before I arrived to get it!! The only reason people continue to pay your outrageous prices is because they expect to get good quality food, consistently, not shamed by your employee for trying to be proactive and NOT have an experience like the one...
