my husband and I along with another couple went on a road trip in our RV's and Roswell New Mexico was the only place my husband insisted we visit. So glad we did. we had such a good time exploring this place. you have to go to the UFO museum but pay the few dollars to go in the interactive part that we had such a good time in. they have different rooms with aliens in each room and you can take pictures of yourself with the aliens. we laughed so much and had such a great time. took lots of pictures. the rest of the town was okay, the visitors center was great. they are very friendly and you get to have your picture taken with the aliens they have in there. they told us that the following week the whole town has a alien convention (i am not sure if that is what it was called) but for three or four days a ton of people dress up as aliens and have a great time. I can only imagine the creative costumes people made. we wish we could have stayed for it but the road was calling for our next destination. I wish every single person, or couple or families could do a road trip like we did and see all the wonderful national parks we stayed in and then all these towns that had unique attractions in them. we had the best time for seven weeks that flew by. anyways Roswell New Mexico was fun. especially that back part...
Read moreI am not giving this place a one star because of the quality of the staff or the cleanliness of the place but rather I am giving it a one star because the place is huge for just having a little corner with brochures. Roswell is not a huge town and yet they built this huge building for information on the town. The ladies there were friendly and knowledgeable on their town but there just simply isn't much to do around there according to them. I think that this visitor bureau would be much better off if it was in a smaller building highlighting the best features in the town rather than having a community size room for just a little corner of brochures. What I did think was cute was that they had a little photo display available for visitors to take a picture. But, I wouldn't waste your time coming here unless you really want information...
Read moreThe ladies at the Welcome center are out of this world! They had wonderful suggestions and even led us to the pupper friendly establishments. Roswell has so much to offer from museums, restaurants, coffee shops, gift stores and of course the alien themed attractions! We attempted to go out to the crash site twice but be forwarned- there is a closed gate on one end and a cow gang blocking the road on the other. Surprisingly, the plaque is near the crash site rather than the gate. We didn’t make it that for but appreciated the beauty and historical value. Oh! And it’s about a 1 1/2 hour drive north west to the crash site. Prepared to have no phone signal if you feel like driving by a...
