This review story is twofold⌠First, I canât say enough about my positive experience with Dene and Imagine That! Scrapbooks & Gifts!! I found a funny alien âRoswell, New Mexicoâ coffee mug on their website- it was the perfect gift. I saw numerous unique gift items that I would consider in the future for other occasions, but this particular mug was for this one. Prologue: It isnât easy to buy gifts for my husband, a man who needs and wants for nothing. One day he mentioned old-time candy he used to love, and I wrote down the list (Sixlets, Zero Bars, Milk Duds, Sugar Babies, etc.). Even though this candy is still being produced today, I had to go to four places to find it all. I planned to fill a gift bag with these treats, but just days before, I thought once he ate them, heâll have nothing left to remember the occasion, and thatâs where the mug came in. It would become the centerpiece of my candy gift bag present. Segue: Two years ago, we drove 8 hours round trip after work to Roswell, New Mexico, to rescue a puppy we saw on a rescue site. What did we name our precious new addition? You guessed it, âRoswell.â The veterinarian said he was about four months old at the time, which put him somewhere around my husbandâs birthday, so we celebrate both together. Back to the coffee mug: After making the purchase, I realize it may not arrive on time. I called the store, and Dene answered. I told her about the timeliness of the gift and shared the significance of my experience with Roswell, NM. Dene was friendly and helpful from the beginning. She understood my situation and said the mug would be mailed out that morning. After talking with USPS, she called me back to reassure me of the delivery date and to say that my story touched her. Dene emailed me with a nice note to alert me of the arrival. Even though the purchase was small, I felt appreciated as a patron of the business. The exchange was so lovely that when I told my husband about it, the story added to the special spirit of the occasion. We plan to return to Roswell, NM, to explore the town and Imagine That! Scrapbooks & Gifts will be one of our destinations. The second part of this review is a word of encouragement- When you rescue/adopt a pet, you are saving a life and enhancing yours in ways...
Read moreI walked in and the place was poorly organized. The young lady that was helping me find the paper I was looking for had such a whiny and snippy attitude that it made me feel like I was imposing on her. The paper I was looking for was only in Speciality Kits exclusively made by them. They would not sell me anything I was looking for separate from the kits. The lady kept repeating herself when I asked for specific items, which made me feel like an imbecile. I had to tell her she did not have to keep repeating herself to me. I've been Scrapbooking for 10 years I understand. This was on a Friday afternoon and you would "THINK" that she or whomever in charge would have New Mexico Paper, Embellishments etc... in stock apart from the kits (which contained 3-4 pieces of paper and maybe 2 embellishments) for $15. There were no clearly marked prices on the paper anywhere and when I did decide to ask a price (which was only 3 times) it was always .79-$1.99 nothing clear and concise. I did have 2 items in my hand (a cutout Alien head and Saucer Ship). I ended up putting those two items back and walking out of the store. My husband on the other hand bought a magnet. If it had been up to me I would have put the magnet back as well. I don't care that the store has been there 12years and they are the largest in the US, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans if you don't have or deliver what customers want. I'm done with them and don't recommend for anyone...
Read moreI have been to this store a couple of times before this. It's big and they carry a large selection of scrapbooking products and accessories. This time I went during the UFO Festival and they had blocked off a significant portion of the store. Understandable really. People were mostly looking for souvenirs. They had a fair selection of souvenirs, relatively affordable. I think they had gotten in especially for the Festival and different than the souvenir items I had seen on my other trips. They were a little hot and tired because, in spite of the AC running on high, it just couldn't keep up with the mass numbers of people coming in and out of the store, opening and closing the door letting hot air in. But...
