I must say this was a most wonderful experience. My wife and I took our grandsons to Kalahari for a 4-day stay for them to have some time together since they rarely get to do so at the same time. The granddaughters will be going on the next adventure. Yes, I've been asked about the girls.
The resort is beautiful and well-maintained from the moment you pull up. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Our room had plenty of space to accommodate the six of us. There are various room options to choose from. We had an amazing view of the outdoor water park. For a breakdown of the resort, there is both an indoor and outdoor waterpark, indoor arcade with amusement rides, restaurants, shops, and activities. There is also a convention center. Additionally, there is an abundance of parking.
The outdoor waterpark has multiple pools, 2 kiddie sections, and the lazy river. The indoor water park, which the grandsons preferred, had the lazy river, the wave pool, the wave runner, multiple water slides, at least one pool other than the wave pool, and a kiddie section. The arcade section was awesome with an abundance of games, lazer tag, zipline, wall climbing, a mirror maze, virtual reality, miniature golf, a roller coaster, and the incline. The bowling alley can also be found in the same area.
There are multiple restaurants on site, but we chose to venture into Round Rock and eat at some of the restaurants in the area. There was a full size refrigerator in the room, so we did stop by Walmart the first night and fill it up for the grandsons to have some snacks and lite meals for the duration of the stay. The last day is the only day we ate at Kalahari. My wife got some pizza from somewhere in the resort and brought it to the bowling alley. I also ordered some wings from the bowling alley for us. The food was definitely delicious.
This was a great experience with so much to do. There were still so many activities to engage in. Definitely worth visiting...

We spent a few days at Kalahari Resorts, and I just have to share our experience. In short—it’s a paradise for kids! We have teenagers (16 and 14), and even they loved it. For younger kids, it’s an absolute dream.
What We Loved the Most
First—the massive water park! There are slides for every taste—some extreme, some more relaxed. The water could have been a bit warmer (we went in the spring), but that’s just a small thing. I also liked that there’s an adults-only area where you can just relax while the kids run around.
Second—all the activities. Besides the water park, there’s a huge arcade, climbing areas, go-karts, and even two escape rooms (book them in advance!). Honestly, the kids were entertained all day long.
Third—the food. There are so many restaurants to choose from. Perfect for kids—pizza, pasta, burgers, mac and cheese, you name it. And for adults, there are cafés and cocktail bars. We tried their margaritas—so good!
Fourth—the overall atmosphere. Everything is clean, beautifully decorated, with lots of African-themed decor and cozy lounge areas. One thing I really liked is that you can pay with a wristband everywhere, so you don’t need to carry cash.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind • It’s not cheap, especially during holidays and school breaks, but everything is in one place, so you don’t have to go anywhere else. • It can get crowded, but the place is huge, so it never felt overwhelming. • If you want to do escape rooms or other popular activities, book in advance.
Overall, we had a great time! The kids were happy, and so were we. If you’re looking for a fun family getaway, I totally...
Read moreLocation is ok. Right across from Dell Diamond Stadium. If you are lucky, you will get a room where you will face it and see the fireworks sometimes.
Service so far is pretty good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Walked into the market with my family and I was holding an almost empty jug of baby water. Before I said anything, the guy that was working asked if we needed some distilled water and went to go check on the back for us.
On another note, kalahari is a bit pricey imo. We tried to go cheap and got the double queen room. Be forewarned, their “standard queens” aren’t queens. They are more like a double or a full sized bed. If you are like us and like a little bit of space on your bed, don’t book the double queen. Go for the king, which is probably their true queen.
Word to the wise: buy snacks from Walmart or anywhere else. We got in late so I got 2 bags of chips and a Gatorade. Paid $15+… sheesh.
It’s a “resort” soooooo go valet. Walking from the parking lot is a bit of a walk. But if you are used to going to stadiums and theme parks, you are right at home. Valet parking for overnight is $40+tax. I think that’s a day. Not for the whole stay. $29? For...
