Great Karoo Marketplace Buffet — Restaurant in Round Rock

My review is a little late, but well deserved. We had breakfast the morning after our stay at Kalahari back in March and it was delicious. On my second trip (of at least 3 lol) to the buffet my 4 year old daughter and I passed Saathvik V working diligently clearing plates off the tables. My daughter waved and said “good morning” to Saathvik and his face lit up with happiness. He was working so tirelessly he appeared caught off guard. He returned to our table later to ensure we were all taken care of. He wasn’t our server, but he went out of his way to follow up with us on our needs. My family and I stayed at Kalahari on a Sunday and Monday. I'd been here before with my sister on a Saturday and they had a HUGE buffet so I was excited to come again. I was worried that since we were going to have breakfast on Monday and the resort was pretty dead, that the buffet would be limited so my husband went and asked the front desk on Sunday afternoon and they assured him there would be a full buffet on Monday morning. We get there on Monday morning, pay the ridiculous $30 per person, only to get to the buffet and see it was VERY limited! I was so mad! I understand if you don't want to provide a full buffet on weekdays because it's not busy enough, but why would you charge the same amount?! We’ve tried almost every restaurant at Kalahari. This has been our favorite so far. Enjoyed the brunch buffet, lots of options from meats to omelets, pastries, parfaits, fruit, juices, coffee and more. Little pricey but it is a resort. Edit: we have been here 3 times now and one thing that needs improvement is the service. Super slow to get initial drinks-like halfway done with a plate before even getting a beverage-and their restocking of items timely. They should either take drink orders when they seat you and write them on the paper they leave at the table so the server knows what to get you-or do it self-service- which honestly I would prefer.
