I was here first time. I booked a 60-minute body massage and 30-minute foot massage over the phone for me and my friend. The lady I spoke over the phone told me that if I pay with a credit card it will cost me $75 per person, and if I pay with cash she will charge me only $70 per person, $140 total. So, I told her I will pay cash after the service.
We had an appointment at 12:30. We arrived on time. The place looked ok. We were asked to go to the room and change. On every wall and in our room (I believe that in other rooms too) were notes saying that suggested tip for 1-hour massage is $15 and for half hour massage is $10. The massage was delayed 30min! As it began, it was very chaotic. Definitely the lady who massaged me wasn't professional masseuse. My friend felt exactly the same. It was very hard for me to relax. At some point, the masseuse just sat on my back and I thought she would break me in half! This morning, instead of feeling relaxed, I got up with a huge backache. Foot massage was ok.
I was extremely surprised at the checkout when the owner told me to pay $150 instead of $140. I reminded her that something different was said over the phone, what is even more I showed her the price menu hanging on the wall with the price $70 for the service I just had. She said that price changed. I didn't want to argue with her so I paid $150 cash. The masseuses were waiting and watching us at the front desk, what was very creping for us. I gave $15 tip each, which is exactly 20%. The owner stopped me and told that I left them too little tip!!! Then she showed me a note on the wall with information for customers that the suggested tip for 1-hour massage is $15 and for half hour is $10 and she said that I MUST give the masseuses a bigger tip. I was shocked!! I explained her that $15 is exactly 20% and I think it's enough. What is more both masseuses showed off their disappointment by getting $15 each and they didn't even thank me, but just left. Really?
I definitely do not recommend this...
Read moreI must say that I was not impressed. I went in (no appointment) for a 45 minute foot massage. I was taken to a chair, but made to sit on an ottoman and put my feet in a bucket of water while my back, neck, and arms were massaged for about 15 minutes of my 45 minute foot massage. The massage felt okay, but it was clumsy; sitting like that, without the use of a massage chair, is not very comfortable (and I doubt it was comfortable for my masseuse either). I especially did not care for my feet in the bucket of water. That was annoying. Halfway through, I put my feet on the outer part of the bucket as the water got cold and it just did not feel good at all. When the masseuse finished with my back, I was asked to sit in the recliner which was reclined all the way to the flat position (so I was on my back looking up at the ceiling) while my feet were on the ottoman. The next 30 minutes were spent like this which also was also uncomfortable and clumsy. I'm accustomed to sitting while getting foot massages. Sitting allows me to read and text on my phone. It's possible to do so on your back, yes, but not optimal. The foot massage itself was also just okay. The room is pretty, but it's not private. While I was there, 2 other customers arrived. Everyone tries to be quiet in observance of a sign that asks for quiet, but it's still a distraction when others come in so I'm not sure what the owner or owners were trying to create with the dim lighting and soft music. In the future, I'll stick to getting my foot massages with my pedicures at another business. And, if I want a back massage, I'll do that there, too, in a...
Read moreUnfortunately I did not have a great experience. I came in a few days ago for my birthday. I decided to treat myself to a 90 minute massage, 60 body and 30 foot. When asked what kind of pressure I wanted, I explicitly said light / medium. The first thing, right off the bat, for about 20 minutes of the massage, there was someone (a staff member) in the front watching a cartoon of sorts and I could hear the whole thing. I understand it’s a small space and the walls are thin but I was in the room closest to the front and could hear everything which was really off putting while trying to relax (also headphones are a thing). Thankfully that didn’t last the whole appointment, and my main issue was with the message itself. I don’t know who I had, but she completely destroyed me and the entire thing was so painful. I must have asked 3-4 times to lighten up on the pressure, but she didn’t listen. At one point I said “ouch” out loud to which the woman replied “no pain no gain” and laughed - I’m assuming she was trying to joke around but it wasn’t funny. I’m not a retired quarterback that needs her muscles dug into and reshaped, I came in to relax a little on my birthday. I walked out of there in so much pain and woke up the next day to even more pain. Today, two days later, it’s even worse - I’m truly in so much pain after the intensity of this massage and it’s ruined my whole weekend. My back, neck, arms and legs are truly sore, and my back even has some bruising. I will not be returning and left extremely disappointed...
