2nd time we went & food as fantastic as before! Great Thai food at a very reasonable price. If you're afraid of Thai because you've heard it's super spicy, please go and ask them for something tasty but not hot. You can also ask them wait staff to adjust the heat in a dish and they really do because everything is made to order. They are very accommodating but also leave you alone when you want peace but are there immediately if it looks like you need help. A+ dishes: grilled chicken green curry (with avocado slices, carrots & potatoes; green massamam chicken curry (also tofu); all of the dips that come with the appetizers esp the vinegary clear dip with diced cucumber; yum yum noodles are to die for says Nikki (son's girlfriend); Singapore noodles with veggies; major quantities of high quality vegan and vegetarian offerings including vegetarian duck!; hubby loved the Ocean Cry - it was huge amount of very fresh seafood, delicious creamy green curry sauce; son had Singapore noodles with veg and he loved it. We've had the appetizer platter, to see which app we want to get, but ended up getting the platter again, the spring rolls, satay and fish cakes are delicious. BYOB, which I love; they bring buckets of ice. The staff is very nice and professional and accommodating. Everything is super fresh, tasty and cooked to order by a think a Thai grandma! Sticky rice with mango is sublime. So is the pumpkin pudding, which is really like a custard with pieces of pumpkin and spices. Really nice place, the decor is a little dated (red strings in door), dark lighting and chairs a bit tired, but the cost is very good for such high quality food. Please go; I'm so afraid in this economy that high quality restaurants like Red Basil will not survive. It is really a great place, serving highly tasty food at a very good...
Read moreThe only reason I selected a star was so I could post I asked if the chicken dish I ordered was spicey.. I was assured it was not... really.. Well it was spicey I did not recognize the protein.. my friend identified it as pork... I told the waitress I ordered chicken.. she told me it was chicken... mmmm Its all in the presentation... well Mystery meat ... looked like it was boiled.. and well disgusting Rice... looked like it had been cooked in dishwater. I tried the chicken.. I was honestly disgusted..."I was told it was the Chefs Special" I did not eat it nor did I take it home... long after I should have been offered something else.. I was.. too late, my friend was finished with her meal... They left my meal on the bill. I got up to use the ladies room ... they had a fan plugged in across from the wall to a table.. well I tripped over that not expecting to have to be looking for such obstructions and it fell on my foot... Don't take the chance... pay more .. drive further... walk in a differnt direction.. They should have at minimum removed it...
Read moreDelivery Order - Ordering from here for the 1st time and not a great experience. Food was hot and delivery was quick but that's the only high point.
For ~$15 each for the Basil Fried Rice and Pad Thai Noodles, I was expecting more. Quantity and Quality was just okay and definitely could have been better for the price. Fried Rice was a little dry and not much flavor. Pad Thai had something like crystals (I am assuming either Brown Sugar or something that was a part of recipe that didn't dissolve well) which kept bothering me while eating.
They offer $8 worth of Spring Rolls for orders over $30 but it was just 2 pieces. $8 for 2 spring rolls is too steep. Sweet Roti at $7 was a joke. You buy a can of condensed milk and some ready-made Roti from any Indian Store and get twice as much done at home for the same price and taste.
Wouldn't recommend, at least...
