I was in an REI getting fitted for a boot when I heard another person shopping for goggles tell me about a master boot fitter named Tom in a shop located somewhere in Sacramento. I felt the salesperson at REI simply wasn't that knowledgeable so I left. I called several ski shops in the Sacramento area asking for Tom. I finally found that he worked in Land Park Ski & Sports. I went down and told him that I was NEVER able to find a pair of boot that were comfortable. He went thru the painstaking process of professionally fitting me to a boot, at first it was still painful, but he made adjustments. I went skiing and still had pain, I returned and another master boot fitter named Morgan helped adjust the boots to the point where they are super comfortable. Tom and Morgan helped me find and fit a boot that I can wear all day comfortably, I wanted to shed a tear, Skiing was always painful and I didn't ever have the experience of having boots that weren't killing me. To my surprise they fitted me a boot that was smaller than the REI people were fitting me with. And they stopped me from making the critical mistake of buying a boot one size too big. However it was their expertise & knowledge that made it work. I'm forever grateful to the team, it was not easy though, they are about 35min drive from my house. But you own boots for a very long time and comfort is key. I only mention Tom and Morgan, but everyone else there is superb and works alongside the master techs. The ski shop has a family vibe, they are not after your money (the boot's and ski's they sold me were quite a bit less expensive than the REI shop). I ended up buying 3sets of ski/boots/helmets/socks etc for my wife, daughter and my self. I've recommended them to my friends who are looking into getting into the sport. I literally can't say enough positive things about them, they are an excellent team who is devoted to your satisfaction. Hat's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was referred to LP S&S for a ski boot fitting by friends and reading other positive reviews. First I was grateful and impressed with master ski guru Jeff's patient customer service over several phone calls with me. He helped me on my hunt for new backcountry ski boots, which were new to me after a lifetime of downhill alpine skiing. I could tell his genuine priority was for me to get setup well, no matter where that ended up happening. When I finally came in for my boot fitting, I was eagerly greeted and helped by Bailey, one of the skilled fitters at the shop. I had come hoping to see Jeff, who was right there helping another customer. But after less than 5min, Bailey impressed me with her knowledge, attention to detail, and friendly patience as well... so I just went forward with Bailey's help. She is AWESOME! Then I noticed all of the Boot Fitter Certifications posted along the front of the shop... they obviously have much pride in their talent training. I now recommend LP S&S to all my powder friends and will be a happy return customer for years to come!!!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff here is great. Mostly I worked with Tom, although everyone else was nice and helpful as well. They're friendly and authentic (not like, forced smile customer service vibe), which I really appreciate. And they're knowledgeable yet not arrogant.
I went in for a boot fitting/adjustment with a really tricky pair of ultralight touring boots, and they managed to put in a great insole, heat mold the liners, and punch the boots out over multiple sessions while keeping them in tact, even though my boots aren't really meant to be punched out. They warned me it was risky and could ruin the boots, but since I really needed some room they were willing to give it a shot anyway.
There were a few hiccups in the process since we were kind of going into uncharted territory with these boots, but Tom was meticulous about fixing them and doing a really quality job, and was extremely fair in what he charged me for the whole process given how much I asked of them.
Anyway, great friendly shop with lots of integrity. Highly...
