Dixie Convention Center — Attraction in Saint George

This is my second time visiting this convention center. It’s nice and clean and works well though in the winter the conference rooms were very cold. It is located close to several hotels and a Cracker Barrel. My biggest concern with this place is there really nothing to eat at the convention center, there are two vending machines, one with drinks, the other with candy and chips. Be aware that you’re not allowed to bring in any outside food. It seems that they do set up a food vending station when they are busy on the weekends, but choices are very, very limited and not suitable for anybody with dietary restrictions, vegetarian, vegan, etc. When I come here, I skip eating lunch. I suggest keeping some options in your hotel room and staying close by so you can skip out during lunch break. We rotate a conference between 6 different venues around the Intermountain west and they are the most expensive. The staff is very professional and helpful, but there is an extra fee for everything. They really need help with food. Lowest rating possible for food, of all venues everywhere. Very bland. Everything tastes the same. Make it the same day or a day before and separate the food in storage because we get a lot of negative reviews on food when we host here. The center is really nice. The catering service is poor. The bring out the snacks and drinks for break leave them for break and then clean them up minutes later. While the sodas, water etc was still paid for by the event they were not available for patrons. Same with lunches cleaned up before everyone was done eating. Noticed that a person got up to take a phone call came back their plate was gone went back to start over they had half the buffet cleaned up, only able to get part of their lunch.
