I have yet to be disappointed by the food here but this last time we went the customer service was very severely lacking in all areas. Our servers name was James and his first impression was wonderful and set the bar high for the rest of our time there, however we were quickly let down. The drinks came quick and both the drinks that were ordered came with "bottomless refills" according to the menu to which we were given 0, My drink specifically was gone before our food got there and he didn't bother to get another one or ask if I'd like more, just put our food down and basically walked away. However upon our food being delivered I had asked for ketchup for the fries I ordered, which he acknowledged and then proceeded to not do anything about until about 20 minutes later when all the food was gone aside from a handful of fries. Both of the meals we had ordered also said that they came with some rolls or corn biscuits to which we were given none, they weren't even asked about by James, the server. When he finally came back around with the ketchup, again about 20 minutes after it was asked for, I asked for the check and he gave it to us and then proceeded to make excuses about the quality of customer service he was giving stating "one of my coworkers is angry with me and so I've been trying to avoid them and so I apologize about being neglectful". My wife and I both agreed that regardless of if you have a conflict with a coworker, your main priority is your job and ensuring great customer service to those you are serving, not trying to be immature and avoid a coworker because you can't handle the situation. Again the food was wonderful and we were both pleased with the quality of food we received, however if we return to this establishment we will be asking to not be seated where James will be our server because of the piss poor quality we received. This review would've gotten a higher rating if James had been even slightly more attentive instead of being the immature young adult that we had the displeasure of...
Read moreThis is my first experience eating at Cracker Barrel. After traveling over eight hours my family and I decided to eat here. At first glance it was a warm, inviting, and friendly place. We get there and the very nice hostess tells my husband it will be a 30 wait because we were a large party, five people two adults and three children. Right then we had thought about leaving because we were hungry but decided to stay because they had a lovely shop we could explore while we were waiting. Fourty minutes later my husband goes to ask what was going on. When he gets to the front another family of six people were there. A lady in that party was arguing and demanding to be seated. Apparently she thought her and her family were more important than anyone else. The hostess then proceeded to ask my husband if we could sit at a four person table and add a chair! I'm guessing she wanted to seat the Karen and her family in our table we had been waiting for now 45 minutes! By this time my husband was fuming cursing under his breath. I think the hostess took a look at his reaction because she didn't let him answer she told us to wait see what she can do. Then she comes back finally seats us at a 6 seat table. However, Karen and her bigger family get seated as well in some other part of the restaurant. Our waitress was really nice took our order. Then the waiting began again. About twenty five minutes later we get our food, mine wasn't even hot anymore. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to complain after all this time I was hungry and tired with three kid I need to get back to our room and put to bed. Gave it three stars because our waitress waitress was friendly and food was ok, nothing special. It kinda reminded me of Black Bear diner, which we wished we would have gone in the first place. Also if your wondering if this happened on a weekend, no it was a Thursday. Really wish our first time experience there would have been better but it wasn't. We had been excited eating there because we don't have on near...
Read moreWe had a disappointing experience at the St. George location. After a long day of driving we stopped in for a quick bite. We split a hamburger, with two sides. The table beside us received their food in 10 minutes and it looked great. Our server, Michael, came to take our order. He was personable and explained it was his third day on the job. 10 minutes later the server stopped by to refill the waters and said the kitchen was working on our order. 10 minutes later the server brought over a complimentary basket of rolls as we continued to wait. A nearby table sent their food back. I think I saw a manager on the floor, but she never visited our table. Finally 50 minutes after we placed our order the food was delivered. The burger was dry, the onion straws were cold. The food was ok but definitely not the best burger I ever had. My partner and I agreed we wouldn't order burgers at Cracker Barrell again.
We had to wait at the check out area. One clerk was checking out a customer who wanted to price check a dozen or more items from the store. Another associate was behind the counter but just stood there talking to the the clerk. After waiting for over 5 minutes she called us over to process our check. We shared our frustration about the 50 minute wait for one burger and she said said something was going on in the kitchen tonight. She said some people complained their food was raw and said we were lucky that didn't happen to us. I could tell our comments would not be shared with management. The visit was memorable for all the wrong reasons. If you are thinking of visiting this location you might want to choose another option...
