It's a nice little sand beach that allows a nice walk-in to the harbor.
As with most of the local coastline, the water is so clear you can't believe it. Yes, it's chilly (even at the end of July), but once you get past the initial shock, it's quite pleasant.
There's a little kayak rental shop there, too. Not cheap, but $35/3 hours and $10/hour after. If he's not there, just call the number on the stand and he'll be there in 5 minutes.
