Drove 5 hours for a night get away in with my boyfriend to see Mackinac the next morning, checked into a dirty room. When we went to the front desk to let the lady know the room wasn’t cleaned, (the bed was unmade, dirty towels and sheets everywhere, pizza boxes, beer cans, trash.) she immediately caught an attitude and tried to put us in a room without a jacuzzi. When we explained that we drove 5 hours for this room because of the hot tub alone, her response was “I highly doubt you drove 5 hours for a tub.” When we literally did. Acted like we were in the wrong for being upset that we walked into a disgusting room after paying over $200 for it. She finally called the manager to explain what was going on, and described us to him as “obnoxious and rude” in front of us. If we hadn’t of been so far from home, we would’ve just left. Your long shifts are no excuse to treat your paying costumers like trash, threatening to call the cops on us because we said “this is bullshit”, when she tried to put us in a completely different room without the tub. Then explained there’s a hot tub in the hotel, “but there’s a huge pool party going on right now so it’s quite packed.” Moral of the story, whoever was working the counter on Saturday the 18th is completely miserable with her job and it shows. Get some staff that cares about the happiness of the paying costumers, and takes accountability for the dirty room instead of acting like us not wanting to sleep in a dirty bed was an inconvenience. I’m sure if the costumer service would’ve been much more friendly the stay wouldn’t have been bad. But the workers are the face of an...

Need to share more about this place after seeing the latest review. It’s clean, quaint and close to everything. ||The pool and hot tub area are just fine. Very clean. They had rain issues which caused an abundance of moisture in the pool area, but have gotten those addressed. The rusty pics someone else posted are true pics but they don’t define the pool. The hotel has addressed that rust after the rain, and will be doing so again. But there are no issues with the pool and I attach pics. ||As far as food, they offer a continental breakfast from 7-10 am each day. Make your own waffles, bagels and cream cheese, muffins, prepackaged boiled eggs, cereal and milk. Several juice types and coffee and hot chocolate. ||There is a nice game room for kids. ||Dog friendly place. ||King size bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Huge shower-head. Water is hot! Small dorm size fridge, storage closet. Room is ample so using the drawers instead of living out of the suitcase gives you a little more leg room. Sheets were soft. Very comfortable stay. Staff and manager are very responsive and friendly. ||View of Lake Huron across the street. It’s a decent place to stay. Small businesses like this can’t afford bad reviews so after seeing the last guys review, I had to post more information. We would definitely...

The front desk had some errors when booking for our trip. I had reserved a room for two nights Friday and Saturday check out Sunday. We had two separate room booked for 2 different family's and when we went to check in they told us they cancelled my friends room and the women at the desk told us we can just stay in the same room since we are friends. We were never offered anything for the trouble and pretty much was told your out of luck on another room.

One of the beds sheets were still damp from the washer after I got in it at midnight, I had to change my own sheets .

They turned my key off on Saturday morning and lock me out of the room with my kids inside. the front desk had apparently only had me down for one night? Sure, then I have to head to the font to get the key activated.

and Finally the Breakfast room was nothing short of completely cheap and a pain to even try to make a bagel or waffle. 1 toaster and 1 waffle maker for over 50 room of people all trying to have breakfast from 6-10 A.M. I watched people stand in line for 30 minutes to make 4 waffle's. it was unreal how crowded it was. 205 dollars a night LOL

Will never come back to this MOTEL, way too man choices on the stipe to choose such a...

My friend and I inadvertently rented a single room. We called the front desk to ask about a double room. The guy at the front desk said that there was nothing he could do and that we would need to call booking.com (beware when booking through them). The next morning, I saw a roll away bed in the hall. When I asked him about the roll away bed, he said that he was not allowed to put a roll away bed in a single room because of MI fire safety laws, and "he's been told multiple times" not to. Michigan fire law is 36 inches space on either side of the bed. There is PLENTY OF ROOM to add a bed and remain compliant. Everyone else I spoke with has been nice and accommodating. Also, the pool, hot tub, and ice the machine on our floor are out of service. The toilet clogged and gurgled into the tub, and the doors would randomly stop accepting our keys (both keys), and we had to walk from one end of the building to the other to get inside. The men working on the building (I assume) had a fire pit and were smoking cigarettes 6ft from the back of the building, but guests have to stay 30ft from the building if they're smoking. The guy seemed upset that we booked through booking.com. He seemed to have a real hang-up about it.

I read tons of reviews of this place before booking so I was shocked at the actual condition when I got there. Side door locks that don’t work (so now anyone could get in the building...), lots of trash around the building, lots of dead bugs in the hallway light fixtures, a rusty and smelly (not normal pool chemical smell) pool area, storing extra furniture in the hallway. Some of the air conditioning units vented to the hallway which meant the hallway was as hot as a sauna and noisy. Breakfast was very basic and some of it still frozen. When the breakfast attendant was told a pack of hard boiled eggs were still frozen she said just grab another one 🤷🏻‍♀️. Rooms weren’t much better. Was that baby bell cheese wax on the head board or what?? Not sure I want to know. Check the pictures of the hotel I have included.

Stayed a month ago and found everything to be great. The rooms were very spacious, clean and the beds were lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was very extensive. There were eggs, waffles (loved the machine to make your own),cereals, yogurt, toast and more. There was also a variety of coffees and juices. We had a good breakfast each morning which set us up for the day. The "balcony" area was very pleasant. We had a dog with us and had no problems with that at all. Will stay again.
