To be honest, I'm a little disappointed. I've been thinking about raising chickens for years and I finally decided to make a plan and do it. On my birthday, my family gave me a $100 gift certificate to this store to help me get started. I sent in my order today (via email; no online ordering available) for some chicks and supplies. They called to collect payment but were unable to accept the gift certificate over the phone. I asked if I could pay the overage with a debit card and then the remaining $100 with the gift certificate when I picked everything up. The woman I spoke with was agreeable to that plan and took my debit payment over the phone. Going through my checking account a few hours later, I discovered that I was charged the full amount of the purchase. I called the store to get clarification and spoke to a different woman who told me that they couldn't accept partial payment for a transaction. I guess that makes sense, though I wasn't taking possession of the merchandise until I paid the balance at pick-up. My disappointment stems from the conversation that both women had with each other while I was still on the phone. I could hear every word that was spoken between the two, including a recap of the initial phone conversation that was very different from the actual conversation. When the second woman asked the first woman if she wanted to talk to me, she said, "no" in a tone that indicated that it was the last thing on Earth she had any interest in doing. I'm super-bummed. I've never shopped at this store before and was really excited about it. I wanted to support a small, local business, but after I spend that $100 gift certificate, I doubt I'll go back. Fleet Farm is much closer to me and much...
Read moreThese folks know their stuff! The shop has everything you need to learn and then do anything from raising chickens to worm farming to container gardening to tool sharpening to raising herbs to composting full on urban back yard vegetable gardening in any season and quite a bit more. You can get books on how to, beat tools and Nick backs - but also good quality tools, feed, seeds and much more. Could spend a lot of time in there. So many areas I want to learn more about, I feel like I could spend a year a piece just working on each section of the shop. Fortunately, the people who work there are so knowledgeable, I wouldn't have to. They clearly possess a wealth of expertise and are more than willing to share it. Wonderful place. I can see myself spending a lot...
Read moreOmg I love this little boutique plant store. I found it once by happenstance and had to go back because I love all their stuff! They have cute gift ideas, beautiful house plants, gardening tools I haven’t found elsewhere, canning and fermenting supplies, starter plants in the outdoor area and baby chickens in the shop! The prices are very reasonable. Definitely worth checking out. I included a pic of the bucket bin thing I bought here and that curved blade also came from this shop. Also pictured are two little pots and a house plant I...
