I was really excited to visit this library because it's so beautiful, but unfortunately, my experience was ruined by safety concerns. Throughout my time there, I encountered multiple homeless individuals and addicts, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. On several occasions, I was approached by people asking for money or cigarettes. One man even tried to follow me around, while another took pictures of my car and waited by the elevators for me. I also had to deal with someone trying to hit on me multiple times, which felt invasive.
What really stood out was the lack of security. I think having an officer or security guard at the entrance would make a huge difference, like the one at the Walker Library in Minneapolis. Without that presence, I never felt safe or at ease. It's such a shame because the library itself is stunning, and I had hoped for a more peaceful and welcoming environment. Read moreI needed to print a document today. The library I normally go to is closed during the pandemic. I was so happy that I was able to print at this library. The staff in the library were extremely friendly and helpful. Also they are taking the pandemic seriously. They stop you at the door go over a few instructions about properly socially distancing yourself from others and keeping your mask on at all times.
