Original Candyland store — Attraction in Saint Paul

I’ve shopped here more than once, and it has been great. I recently bought some salt water taffy, 1 lbs worth. I have got them before, but this batch was not as soft as it usually is. More than half of the bag was semi hard, like you’d have to really bite into it and tug on it just to make a dent. Now, there could be countless reasons for this. I got the taffy on a cold night, it was bagged and beyond that I placed it in my tote bag. So, the taffy was not protected from the cold weather as much as it it could have been. This could have been the reason behind the less chewy texture. I should note, I did not try a piece until the day after, so it should have gotten back to room temperature by the time I ate some. Nonetheless, it still would have shown signs of being affected from the cold. I have gotten taffy from the store on other cold nights and the end result hasn’t been as “drastic” as this time. I have even stored taffy in an airtight container for months. Granted, I shouldn’t have had those pieces of taffy considering I don’t know the expiration date, but they were able to stay soft for that time. Getting back to the issue. I don’t really know that caused the taffy to be hard, but I’m not too disappointed in the taffy or the experience. We really like to treat ourselves to this store but seldom. When we go, we go all out as the prices rack up and the individual prices are by no means a deal or cheap. But do not let that lead you a stray- you are paying for taste, quality and the experience each and every time! Can not say we have any other “candy store” other than a local gas station but it’s NOT THE SAME! The staff behind the high countertops are always courteous and helpful to get you in and out of their line as some days it can lead out of their store and down the block as their treats are truly in high demand. Might I add, we were quite surprised the last time we were in during July 2021. The customers inside of the store were not very pleasant as we could not tell where the line started and ended so we kindly just stood in the back but then were immediately looked at like we were savages. So be aware and know where the line keeps, starts and ends- PEOPLE WANT...

They have a wide slection of candies, gummy candies, chocolate candies, fudge, toffe and delicious popcorn. I could not decide between the sea salted caremel popcorn or the regular caremel popcorn, so I got both. They were both delicious. I also got chocolate covered marshmallows with a cherry on top, that was also delicious. As a satisfied customer I will be going back. I loved seeing so many options, you will have to come in and see for youself. They even have a variety of different flavored large lollipops and those "Unicorn pops", which I really want to try, especially the grape flavored one. Candyland also has hand dipped covered caremel apples, which is nice because usually you can usually only find those around halloween everywhere else. I had an enjoyable experience, I loved their large selection if candies, chocolates and popcorn. I was super satisfied with everything I purchased today. I will be going back in the future....
