NIce pier, room for fishing, several species of fish can be caught here. However, the public boating pier is about 50 feet away and the boaters who anchor in the bay come in regularly, especially around breakfast time, lunch and dinner. The problem is that many are thinking only of themselves. They will come in under the pier, right through your fishing lines. they cut the corner and come within 10 feet of the pier on the deep water side. This morning alone, I had to quickly pull my line in three times as boaters who were anchored out brought their skiffs in right through my lines. Additionally "Mommy and me" yoga class comes out on the pier and blares their music as they do yoga on the "fishing pier". Many walkers, runners, bikers, etc also are all over the pier, causing you to be extremely careful with casts. Basically, this is NOT a fishing pier, it is a public pier that you can fish from. We catch black top shark, cat fish, ladyfish, trout, lizard fish, plenty of pinfish and grunts, the occasional puffers, and some people have even caught flounder here as well. There are lights under the pier for night fishing too. Its always very clean and has plenty of trash cans so it can stay that way. The view is really pretty at sunset too. But it is not so great for fishing It's a small pier and you really, really, really have to fight for parking along with having to lug your stuff out to the pier. There are cleaning tables and benches in the walk, but this is better for a romantic stroll or a bit of a party...
