Neptune Grill — Restaurant in Gulfport

Hello, I hope someone is reading this email or I will have to come down personally to complain. My spouse and I have been living in Gulfport for 26 years and have always enjoyed dining at your restaurant. I realize that everything is going up in price exorbitantly except of course our social security checks. We have spent many hundreds of dollars there and always had our friends and out of state family come there for lunch. This is the first time we were shocked at the bill. We are retired senior citizens. My out of state friend came down and we told him how wonderful and inexpensive your restaurant is compared to O'Maddy's so we came there. We cannot believe how your prices how gone up tremendously. I am attaching the bill. All I had was a mushroom appetizer that used to cost $6.99 and my husband had a gyro sandwich that was $7.99. My small caesar salad was $5.99 and my friend's Mousaka was $23.98 which I guess I can understand but at that ridiculous price for a small little plate it should have come with a little salad which added another $3.99. Really? Now all of those items have almost doubled. The total for our little lunch was $71.70 plus a ten dollar tip........................$81.70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your prices have gone up tremendously and unfortunately we can never dine there again and we will have to tell all our friends how your prices have gone up so high. We see why Caddy's closed. The last time we were there three beers came to $40.00!!! I know your expenses have probably gone up too but you have now forced us to go elsewhere for lunch. We will miss Neptune's. My spouse is a well known Gulfport artist, had originally painted your restaurant and the menus when it was HT Kane's and we had the gallery next door plus two others in Gulfport as we moved around. I am sorry to email this complaint to you and probably no one will even reply to it but you will see that your business will be going down because of the high cost. We were there today, Sunday, 7/30/23 and the place was empty and it was lunch time. Ok, they will always be there for the drinks but you need more than that to survive. I know servers that had to quit working there because they couldn't make enough money.

I will close this now and wish you well, but unfortunately we will never come there again, nor will anyone we know, sorry Gus, if that is still you owning it.

My husband and I have been to the Neptune Grill quite a few times, and every time we have been there we have always been happy with everything. The food is great, we have never had anything bad off the menu. The wait staff and bartenders are always friendly and service is great timing... ...BUT... Last night we went to the "Drag By The Bay" show and were very disappointed. Don't get me wrong the service, staff and food were all still awesome. I had called a couple of times to reserve (I was making reservations for 3 people) a table for the show, the first person I spoke with told me that it was going to be a $80.00 minimum order during the show, when I called back because no one called me back like I was told they would, I was then told $40.00 Min. Neither time was I told if that was for the whole table or PP. Finally a manager called me back and I was finally told that it was $20.00 PP. Now mind you when I make reservations someplace I don't expect the best table in the place, but I want a table where you can see everything going on. NOPE we got a table in a corner right by where the wait staff goes in and out of the kitchen and by the tubs all the empty dishes go in. (There were only 2 tables that were reserved) the other people had a nice table in the middle. The Ladies putting on the show did almost all of their dancing and stuff out front and on the other side of the bar, and we saw nothing, and when they did come by us it was so fast we couldn't and didn't enjoy the show at all. Plus when it was advertised, it stated the show was from 7-9pm, but they failed to say it was two shows. The first show was over in about a half an hour. Please don't take this review as a bad one against the food, drinks, staff, and service because it isn't. We will definitely be back for all of that. What I am giving them a bad mark is for the way they handled it when people make a reservation, like I said I don't expect the best table in the place but a nice table where you can see the whole show. I made a reservation for a reason..We WILL be back again, just not sure for something like...

Not only does this place have the worst service, they also steal from you. I went there for lunch on 9/2/23. I decided to sit on their patio. All the other tables in that section were empty, so I was the only one there when I sat down (a sign said “seat yourself”). A few minutes later a couple sat at the table behind me. The waitress came, took their drink order and left. Another couple came and sat behind that first couple. The waitress came back, took their drink order as well and then left again. Then she came back and brought the drinks for the first couple, and left again. I tried to get her attention but she just ignored me. Then a 3rd couple showed up and sat at a table in front of me. A different waiter came and took their drink order and then also left. So by now I had been sitting there for 15 minutes and I was being ignored by two of their wait staff even though I was there before any of those other 3 parties. Nobody ever came to take my order, so I got up and left. I was going to go to a different restaurant but I was feeling a little lightheaded from having been out in the heat for hours and didn’t want to walk around to look for another place, so I made the mistake and went inside Neptune Grill hoping I would actually get someone to bring me a drink and food. The service inside was better and the food was ok but 2 days later when I looked at my bank statement I noticed that the waiter had added an additional $2.00 to the 20% tip I had already added to my credit card receipt. I can’t express how disgusted I am with this place. First to be ignored by a waitress AND waiter while everyone around me that came after me is getting their orders and then to be stolen from on top of that is unacceptable...
