We chose See Through Adventures as one of our activities to do while on spring break from MI. We booked this 3 days in advance and booked for our last full day in the area. This was the one activity our family of 4 really wanted to do. As we were loading in the car to drive to our adventure, we get a call saying it’s “too windy with 2 footers” so the tour was canceled. Our gut told us there was something “fishy” about our cancellation so we called several other tours in the same area and asked if it was “too windy and rough” and if they had cancellations. Each one of them told us it was a perfect day and they were all completely booked. So it was our very last day and now we are stuck with no tour and too late to book anything else. It was a huge disappointment in our vacation and our daughters were very upset. I understand weather is unpredictable as we are boaters in MI, but it seems this company lied to us for what ever reason, that is unacceptable. As a business owner ourselves, I just don’t know how you can run a business this way. I guess shame on me for not reading reviews as this seems to be an ongoing problem with them. For those that actually have been able to go on a tour, congratulations, you seem to be the chosen ones. I booked this experience which I was most excited for during my vacation. I take full responsibility for a mistake I made and didn’t realize. I’m not sure if my gps autocorrected and I didn’t catch it or what happened but I got the wrong address. I called the owner and explained where I was and he was immediately irritated. I understand that as well but it still sucks. When I explained where I was he immediately said “well that’s not the directions I gave you. And you won’t make the trip.” I read back the address to him that I got and he said “yes that’s where we are located and it’s 40 minutes from where you’re at” that’s when I realized I typed in something wrong. I responded with “well I guess I missed the boat then” he said in his extremely annoyed with me tone “well how long are you here for? I’ll give you a call later this evening after everything to see if I can fit you in.” I never received a call and was still charged $222 for the service that I didn’t receive. Again, I understand I made a mistake and I bawled the on my way back home over that mistake. It still feels wrong with how everything was handled. Wish I could give more stars. To say this was an outstanding experience is an understatement. It was utterly fantastic - no, that doesn’t capture it either. Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious!!! Now I’m just showing my age… I guess there are no adjectives I can use. Mark, the owner/guide, was witty and fun, very knowledgeable, accommodating, prompt with returning our call/text to confirm… everything was top notch! We took the 1-1/2 hour tour, but we could have stayed all day!! So peaceful, the water was nearly perfectly still, so it was easy to locate the dolphins and manatees. The dolphins teased us by swimming in circles around us, then they just up and left. So we went searching for manatees. Three appeared and were very curious about us!
