First off, I would like to say friendly staff, good food, but my only grime is: that if you're going to add an option of fries for $2 then give some fries or make a different option for a normal serving of fries. I added fries thinking wow it's cheap, but then received LITERALLY 4 fries and they were under cooked(not the point, but they were...). Why even have that as an option for 4 fries? that's not even a small or even a child size serving from any other restaurant. I would have gladly paid for a normal serving of fries, but did not know that it was going to be practically nothing. Same thing with the guac, I asked for guac, but when I looked at the serving size, it was like a tiny little serving of guac(around a tablespoon). I would again would have just paid extra for a normal size serving of guac, but I didn't know it was going to be practically nothing. Who even buys portions that small that is almost non-existent? I took out 2 stars because that's just deceptive advertisement and I feel honesty is a huge part of the food service industry, for me at least.
That was basically my only complaint, but the street tacos are delicious and highly recommend them. I recommend the bulgolgi tacos, so flavorful. Again, the staff themselves very friendly and had a smile when greeting. They were organized and made sure everyone was attended to in a timely manner. So great place overall except for those tiny priced tiny portioned options. Just up the price for the fries and guac "sides", but make sure to give normal size portions and I would have given you a 5 star review. it was just so disappointing to see 4 fries and tiny container of guac. I recommend just buying normal size portions, as if you get the "discounted" meal price it is practically nothing.
For those who cannot find it, it is because the tree is blocking their entire sign. I would talk to the city and get that tree removed as it is definitely going to effect your business for those looking for you. It probably doesn't help that there is a whole different business right next to it, so you may go into the wrong door, but it is the door to the right. Maybe add a sign that you put outside your establishment for non-locals to find it better.
I hope this review helps others have a better experience or help the owner get in more customers (please add a signboard near your door as your sign for your business is being blocked completely by the tree outside) because they do have good food and nice staff. Remember to just order the normal size portions if you want a side (still cheap at around $5, so I'm confused why they even do the tiny portion at all. Just disappoints people.). Street tacos are my recommendation. I tried a few of them and they were good, especially the...
Read moreThis review itâs not of the food, the atmosphere, or even the service, this review is of the owner.
We have only been to the West Salem location and we really liked their tacos. They were spendy, but they loaded the tacos with lots of meat and toppings, so we didnât mind paying.
I was thinking about going there tonight and realized the West Salem location is closed, so as I always do, I went to read the reviews of their downtown location. After reading multiple bad reviews where the owner either made excuses for the bad experience or responded in a passive aggressive âthanks for stopping byâ, I was literally appalled. He didnât apologize once for the customers bad experience or address the issues mentioned in the review, This is not the way an owner or manager of a restaurant should address customer concerns. He showed very little concern for their bad experience. I hope he realizes customers literally make or break your business. So I wonât be visiting anytime soon. And no need to say thanks for stopping by because I donât plan on ever stopping by.
Listen to your customers!!! They are saying itâs too loud and they have to yell in order to have a conversation. Turn it down a bit. You told a customer the downtown location is for customers who like to socialize, but theyâre saying nobody can socialize because itâs too damn loud. Switch out your trendy uncomfortable metal chairs for chairs that actually fit peoples butts. Maybe hire more cooks so people donât have to wait for 30 minutes to an hour for a couple of tacos. Itâs called taking constructive feedback and making adjustments. Thereâs no...
Read moreIf you're looking for a taste of Mexico in Salem, Oregon, Azuls Mexican Restaurant is one you should not miss. From the moment I walked in, I was surrounded by a welcoming atmosphere, colorful decor, and a friendly staff.
But the real star of the show was the food. I can honestly say that I had one of the best meals of my life there. Each dish was packed with flavor and made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Everything we tried was delicious, but the standout dishes were the nachos, the carne asada, and the sopes.
The nachos were topped with a generous amount of cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and fresh salsa. The carne asada was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the sopes were savory and perfectly crispy.
To add to the experience, the portion sizes were quite generous, so we were able to enjoy our leftovers the next day. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.
Overall, Azuls Mexican Restaurant was a delight to dine at. Between the welcoming atmosphere, the friendly staff, and above all, the delicious food, I left feeling satisfied and eager to come back. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic flavor of Mexico in...
