Worst experience ever!! I could not have been more embarrassed.
I rarely, and I mean rarely, write bad reviews but this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had.
I usually go to the Manchester, NH store, but they didn’t have some items in stock, so I drove 25 minutes to the Salem, NH store. My daughter and I were looking for some skincare items for me and I asked an employee where an item was located. She looked at me like I was dirt and pointed to a “large” area and said, “Over there.” After 15 minutes of looking, we finally found the item in a totally different area. Funny enough, it was about 3 aisles down from the “super friendly” associate.
When checking out, I had the “pleasure” of having Evelyn wait on me. If the other employee looked at me like dirt, I would say she looked at us worse. I had a problem with my Ulta card, she got frustrated and rolled her eyes. She told me to call the Ulta card phone number and talk to them. She didn’t provide me with the number, she rudely asked me to step aside since I had a transaction going on at his register and she needed to log on to a different one.
Then comes the worst one of all, the manager. I don’t know what her name is, but she had red hair and the worst attitude and customer service ever. The lady on the phone asked to speak to the manager. The manager looks at me, snatches the phone out of my hand, and says to me, “I don’t even know why I am talking to this person; I can’t do anything.” Wow! What a spectacular attitude! After basically telling the nice lady on the phone off, the manager hands me back my phone and said, “Told you honey.”
So now I am stuck at this really helpful store and I walk out and try to decide what to do. I decided to go back in and use a different card, but take some things out of the bag. The cashier is side eyeing me while I am standing in line and huffing and puffing. When it’s my turn in line, he is so frustrated that he has to take some items off the transaction he looks like he is about to blow up. I pay and he walks away. No “thank you,” no nothing. I wanted to scream at all of them, but since I am a better person than all three, I decided to write this honest review instead. Maybe corporate will take a look and see how the Salem, NH store treats their customers.
Thank you to all the employees and the manager for making me feel stupid and like I was nothing. I truly...
Read moreI love shopping at the Ulta Beauty Store in Seabrook NH. The associates are professional, friendly and helpful. Three months ago, I was in Salem NH and went to that store location. The product I wanted was in a locked case. (although it is not locked in Seabrook) I needed assistance. I approached three female associates chatting at an end cap isle. When I asked if I could get some help I was insulted when a rude sales associate looked at me & answered in a snippy tone "what's up?" (As if I was interrupting their chat time) I told her I was all set and left. Today on my lunch break, I popped back into the Salem NH store to get more product. Again, what I wanted was locked up in a case. I approached a female associate who was on her phone texting and asked her if I could get some help. She pointed down and isle and told me what I was looking for was on the right hand side. It appears she didn't listen to what I was asking for. Another associate redirected me to the proper area. I had to wait several minutes for a third person to unlock the fragrance case. Your Salem NH location needs some fine tuning. Too many associates on their phones and the rudeness is not acceptable. It's also a shame that there are no samples available and the staff is not...

BUT
I had an extremely unsettling experience with another employee who left me feeling so bad about myself. She was super pushy about me buying IT cosmetics and was saying I needed all these products to detract from my “super dark under eyes and blemishes that need a cover”. Never once did I say I wanted any of that stuff. She was just saying over and over how I needed things I was clearly not super comfortable with. Then, I went to go buy that product and it was out of stock. Totally okay, I understand! But what I wasn’t okay with, was how as soon as I got up and walked away, I came back to seeing/hearing her talk about me to another employee.
Very uncomfortable… what sucks is that I love shopping here. I’m still in shock that this all just happened. I told the very nice cashier about it and she was super kind in reassuring me that what happened was not okay. I really hate to leave a bad review because again, I love this place and everyone is so nice, but this one lady made me feel very unsettled with myself and the constant pushy attitude of her trying to make me buy something I wasn’t comfortable with buying. I bought another brand instead and it was clear she wasn’t happy I...
