Bauhaus Salon — Attraction in Salt Lake City

Jennifer is the absolute best & I now love this place.

Let me elaborate. I have an insane amount of hair and it’s naturally light brown - and I wanted to go really light, icy blonde. I booked an appointment and the next day Jennifer got in contact with me to make sure we had a plan and we had the right type and length of appointment. We made an appointment for a week later (two days ago) and in the meantime I got a five inch hair cut from a different hairdresser I trusted that turned out SO bad. I went into the appointment with Jennifer nervous because I’d just had a really bad hair experience and this was a BIG undertaking.

We thought it would take about six hours, although we knew that was an optimistic estimate. We started at 2 PM and left the salon 13 hours later at 3 AM with an appointment for 4 PM next day to fit my haircut and get the few little pieces that the toner hadn’t stuck as well to. Her attentiveness to detail, her thoroughness, her general attitude, and her care never waned, even as the clock kept ticking into the early hours of the morning. I honestly felt like I’d never been in such good hands. She just went so above and beyond for me and I absolutely loved our time together. She’s such a lovely human being and just a superb hair stylist. I was totally blown away across the board.  My hair is unbelievably beautiful, it really turned out perfectly.  The hair cut she gave me to fix the one I'd gotten turned out wonderfully; a feat given how choppy the first one had been.  And, last but not least, we had a lot of fun.

I have never got my haircut by anyone another person than my mum until now. I love her dearly, but she is not a professional hairstylist. Having done my research on several different hairstylist I decided that I would go with Earl Cooper’s help to bring confidence to my wild curly hair. Not knowing the hair world vocabulary, I had to call the Salon, Bauhaus, and by some chance Earl Cooper was the one to get my call. He was very professional and friendly over the phone which made me feel a little better about going to the Salon because I was having a lot of anxiety about it since this was a first. When I got to the Salon, everyone was very kind. One of the hair stylist David introduced me to their pet, Mellie. She was a very beautiful dog that even added to the affect of how warm and friendly the place was. After that I met Earl Cooper for the first time in person, he was very personable, talkative, and easy going. His Persona made it easy for me to enjoy the whole experience. Before even starting my hair, he consulted me for about 30 so minutes on what route to go with my hair. He was very careful to explain every step and give me advice before, during and after the hair styling. I wanted to go short with my hair along with a shade of blond highlights. Earl kept great care of my hair. The before and after were totally different. I’m in love with my new look. I will definitely be going back to Earl Cooper in the future for anything hair related. During the time of Covid, even the most basic of relaxing times tends to have a level of anxiety attached to it. A visit to Bauhaus does not. While I was a client of Maggie’s prior to the pandemic, and appreciated the aesthetics of Bauhaus Salon, a visit now is even more of a treat. It’s clean. It’s safe. It is not an anxiety inducing luxury. From their high end style and products line to the incredible art to the utmost care and attention to each detail the owner (and his dog- make sure to check out the bathroom for pictures if you don’t meet them in person) oversees, getting services here is a complete experience. Even during Covid, while we all safely wear our masks.

My style is unique, and as a true hair artist, Maggie has truly embraced it as art, however I realize most people have their hair professionally done because they just want to look and feel fabulous. A trip to Bauhaus (and Maggie) will deliver these results. My daughters, my daughter-in-law and two of my best friends rely on the expertise and professionalism to achieve incredibly beautiful results that build with each appointment.
