Fairmont Park is seriously my favorite spot in town! I love coming here because it has everything you could possibly want for a fun and relaxing day outdoors. First off, the dog park is a fantastic place for my pup to run around and play with other dogs. It’s so great to see him having a blast while I kick back and enjoy the fresh air.
One of the highlights of the park is the beautiful pond. It’s stocked with trout, so fishing enthusiasts can have a little fun trying to catch something. I often find a nice spot by the water to unwind, especially on sunny days. It feels like a little escape from the city!
If you’re into sports, Fairmont Park has got you covered! There are volleyball courts, basketball hoops, pickleball courts, and soccer fields all available. I often grab a few friends for a game of basketball or a friendly match of volleyball. It’s a great way to stay active and enjoy some friendly competition.
For families, the huge playground is a total hit! Kids can run around, climb, and explore, while parents can relax nearby. I love seeing all the families enjoying the space together.
Another great feature is the BBQ area. I’ve hosted several get-togethers here, and it’s perfect for grilling up some burgers and hot dogs. The big covered area with picnic tables is fantastic for larger gatherings or just enjoying a meal with friends. Plus, there’s so much open grass around that you can spread out and have a picnic or play frisbee.
Being in the heart of Sugarhouse is a huge plus too! There are so many close-by businesses, shops, and cafes, so you can easily grab a coffee or snack before or after spending time in the park. Overall, Fairmont Park offers a perfect blend of relaxation, fun, and community vibes. I can’t...
Read moreLove this park, much bigger than you’d expect, and has something for everyone. Great dog park with two areas one with trees and grass and one with gravel and training fixtures. Skate park where I see young and old, new and many super skilled. Open grass fields & pickle ball courts!!!
In the dog area: Both areas are connected but feel separate, so if there’s too many people or a dog that your doesn’t jive with, you don’t have to leave, just go to the other area. The pups I’m dog sitting have a lot of energy and get VERY excited when we first get to the dog parks, but also want to stay close to me. I walk one big lap around the inside first with them , and they say hello and play a bit but keep up with me and then the second lap I stop and let them really play and run around. It is much better than trying to walk long enough on leash for them to get their energy out and great place to work on training skills.
There are currently some tree roots dug up by dogs and could use some new grass laid so it doesn’t get muddy soon. If you’re going later I would suggest headlamp or phone light as some areas have very uneven ground or roots.

Read moreBest park in town. There are so many trees, it's easy to find shade in a comforting spot. The9 grass is green and welcoming. I like the pond, where there are actually fish, and you can go fishing if you have a license. Lots of geese, ducks, and squirrel's to make it seem more like the outdoors. The squirrel's are even friendly. Since writing this review a couple of months ago I would like to add a comment in regards to the park workers, which went unnoticed until two weeks ago, when I was enjoying a beautiful day at the park. I was on my way home and got tired from the afternoon heat. I sat off the trail on a rock gazing at the trees beside me. Out of nowhere came a speeding lawnmower cutting the grass beside me. I jumped up as the worker began backing up the mower with accelerated speed. I thought he was going to hit me. I was shocked and a bit shooken. I said something to the other gentleman and he drove off in his cart as if he didn't hear me. I stood there a moment in disbelief, then I returned to my walk home. Recently I experienced another incident with these park workers and haven't returned to...
