I stopped in at the 2100 South location (just off of 700 East) for a quick breakfast before starting my day. What a completely different experience than the one I've had at their Ft. Union and Sandy locations. After being promptly seated, I sat for 10 to 15 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant, before the regular breakfast crowd started to trickle in. I was completely ignored by the regular wait staff who seemed totally unconcerned about me as I sat with a closed menu in front of me on the table. Mercifully, two trainees, Megan and Justin, took pity on me, served me some much-needed coffee and took my order. The food at all three OPH locations is consistently good but the service was abysmal. This was surprising because I have always had good service at the Fort Union and Sandy locations. When so many good local restaurants are struggling and laying off staff, It's so disappointing to patronize a restaurant like this OPH, which charges higher than average prices, employs lots of local residents, in such an economically stressful time and to be 'rewarded' with such terrible service. One final--and admittedly minor--pet peeve. I think it's misleading when the suggested tip percentages at the bottom of the receipt are based on the after-tax, rather than the pre-tax cost of the meal. This always seems to me to be a blatant attempt to decieve customers into leaving larger tips by implying they are "under-tipping" based on the actual price of the meal. I tipped 24% (and asked the manager to make sure it went to the two trainees), but the "suggested tip" section implied that was a 20% tip. Not only did i call and door dash call to ask for a simply request of no eggs on the burrito, seems how the option isnt available online, nor can you special request by commenting on the app. Im then told they cant do modifications over the phone, when its not my fault you dont have the option online. Then door dash calls and asks the same thing, and was told itd be left off, because i cant cancel the ordered seems how already placed. I recieved the burrito, and not only did it have EGGS... surprise surprise, it also had sauce when was supposed to be plain. All the girl "kds k" had to do was double check the burrito before sending it out. To me it seems like she didnt even bother to tell the kitchen, nor did she bother to check the burrito. Ive worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years.. I know a Saturday morning breakfast rush is a nightmare, but i know if a customer called in and ask for a simple 86 of a ingredient, that its not hard to tell the kitchen, and to mark on the ticket 86 eggs, and to double check when bagging it. It is actually a very simple thing to do. It seems that "kds k" simply was to lazy and "busy" to help a customer out. One thing ive learned from working in the industry, is the customer is always right, and our job is to make sure the customer leaves happy. Without customers we do not have a job... Read moreI rate the pancake house an 2 because when we got our food finally waiting 45 minutes it was cold like I thought it would be hot but no.second of all; when we got our food heated up it was still cold and my Granny's eggs were soggy and gross..the last time we went to a different one (my granny and grandpa) the last time it was bad but not too bad like today on Father's Day.I know it would be crowded but I didn't think it was going to make the food bad.
