I’ve been here for multiple massages with different staff and have always had great experiences. Unfortunately today has completely changed my mind. I would not recommend Dylan to anyone. He does not listen, continues to push and pull on you when you’re asking him to stop, and is overall rude. This was absolutely the worst massage experience I have ever had.
I called ahead asking if they could do a light massage as my piriformis muscle was feeling tight after a long week of driving, but informed them that I have a trail running race on Saturday so I DID NOT want anything aggressive and I did not want to be sore. I was recommended to see Dylan as he has ‘experience’.
I spoke with Dylan for over 10 minutes before getting started emphasizing how I did not want anything aggressive as my race is in less than 48 hours and I just wanted some gentle massage of my glutes/hip. We agreed that nothing deep would be done so I would not be sore. I said how it hurts when I move it into internal rotation and adduction, and that I also have history of hip impingement so I really cannot do those movements. He asked what I did for work and I told him I’m a physical therapist, and that I really just wanted a light massage for today to loosen up my glute muscles, nothing else. He began by shoving my hip repeatedly into internal rotation.
There were numerous points in the massage where I asked him to go lighter, eventually begging saying PLEASE go lighter!! And he would not listen. He continued to force my hip into internal rotation and adduction with pressure as I repeatedly told him it hurt and that it was my joint hurting not surrounding muscles and to please stop, and he told me the pain is good and that I needed to keep going. I eventually grabbed my leg so he would stop. He went on saying how I’d only be sore for 48 hours and I had to repeatedly mention that my race was sooner than that and that I had asked to NOT be sore at all. Same thing happened again with another area, not listening and pushing into extreme pain. He tried to move onto my other leg and I stopped him because I was in so much pain.
At the end he mocked me saying ‘the client is always right. Oh no the PT is always right’.
This was absolutely not the massage I asked for, and I felt that I was very vocal throughout the session saying how badly it hurt and requesting lighter pressure. I do not feel that Dylan is a safe masseuse and I truly do not recommend anyone with orthopedic...

I waited 24 hours before writing this review because I prefer not to leave negative feedback unless necessary. I'm a monthly massage client, and recently, I moved to Sugarhouse, so I was eager to try this nearby place.
Here's my experience: Upon entering, a staff member quickly ushered me in without introducing themselves or making any effort to engage in conversation. When asked about my preferences, I mentioned that I needed focus on my back due to soreness from a recent trade show.
Within three minutes of lying down, it became clear that this would not be a pleasant experience. The massage therapist primarily used one hand, frequently pausing for extended periods, seemingly distracted by his phone, I could see him pull it out through out the massage. He spent the majority of the hour on my right arm, applying excessive and painful pressure, ignoring my requests to go lighter.
I eventually had to ask him not to touch my left arm due to the pain and discomfort. Surprisingly, the session ended six minutes early, having started five minutes late, resulting in a uncomfortable 45ish-minute massage.
I can only speculate that the therapist may have been unhappy about covering for a sick colleague, who was originally supposed to massage me which negatively impacted my experience. Regardless, I left the establishment feeling emotionally distraught, taken advantage of, and dissatisfied with the subpar...
Read moreI went here recently when looking for a new massage therapist in the area. I don’t know what I did, it I woke up one day and couldn’t turn my head. It calmed down a little the next day but only enough for me to realize I needed to find someone to help me out. I used Google to find a sports massage therapist near me and it recommended Bluewater Bodywork. I live closest to the Sandy location and was able to book a same day appointment. The business is located inside of a gym, so just an FYi when you arrive. My app was with Raelynn and she was awesome. She was professional, listened, and gave me a really great massage that worked out a lot of what was going on with my shoulders/neck. She even gave me a little homework to work on to help out future me. 5 star experience and I will absolutely go back and see her again when I need it. I’ve had a LOT of trial and error while trying to find new people for all of my stuff (like hair, the vet, etc) after moving across the country and I am so glad this suggestion was a slam dunk....
