Recently moved to Rose Park after huge inflation of rent SLC/Downtown/Trolley Area....lived 2 blocks from Marketplace... Thought I'd DIE without Smith's. I AM SO FREAKING THRILLED WITH RANCH MARKET!! I don't speak Spanish and only struggle when needing help sometimes in produce department.. The weekly flyer saves me a TON OF $$$$ and 3 Day Sales I live for... usually UNBELIEVABLE LOW PRICES ON MILK AND EGGS!!!. The bakery department is...a temptation I can never get past... Majority of pastry's are .99 cents.... Definitely, try the "Cannoli's", the smaller ones... I lived in Greenwich Village/NYC and shopped, bought and lived for Little Italy Cannoli's... Rancho Market's Cannoli's are FANTASTIC and way less expensive... considering NYC prices on everything.. My Taco Truck lady (I'VE ONLY AND REGULARLY GONE TO FOR 8 YEARS) recently moved back to Mexico to be with her last/new granddaughter and all of the grandchildren/children/family she has missed. I cried out loudly.. "What about my Taco's Al Pastor!?!?!" With a wave of her hand, she said " Aye¡ Ranch Market $2.99 a pound on sale! Look at flyer online!!!". Rent hikes aside... I really moved to be closer to Rancho Market for when pork taco meat is on sale $2.99@lbs.. The store is exceptionally clean, well stocked, items in flyer easily located, staff professional, helpful, and available aka NOT ON THEIR CELL PHONES ever, while I've or other customer's needed assistance. And, Women's Restroom is OPERATING ROOM CLEAN!! AND STOCKED!!! I haven't been in Men's Restroom, so got no review there. The Security Guard's keep an eye on mine and other customer's "Grocery Wagon's" .. I appreciate that, not only are those wagon's expensive, but at a competitor's store, I had one stolen (security film showed within 5 minutes) of asking employee if it would be safe where they pointed to park it. Rancho Market is my GO TO daily/weekly/save money Grocery shopping destination... Laundry soap/fabric softener, toilet paper I watch flyer for sale prices, and buy then... I get good quality and good prices these items. The selection is not as broad as Walmart... I'm not loyal "brand name" shopper.. I'm a LOYAL quality, price and service shopper and SUPER DUPER PLEASED with Rancho Market...BTW, I moved to Rose Park 3 years ago... been shopping Rancho Market, almost exclusively since move in day... I go to/buy a certain store's brand of certain flavor of ice cream, still..but that's only when that item is on sale ..or I've talked to Ex-husband.. LOLOL. Get Rancho's app.. notifications regarding sales, etc...especially on pork taco meat!!! I miss my Taco Truck Lady's kindness, compassion and hugs almost daily and definitely during various life's hard times and especially thru my before/during & after divorce emotional upheaval. However, I've still got her Taco's Al Pastor with great memories in every bite ....thanks to RANCHO'S MARKET!!! 5 STAR REVIEW AND...
Read moreIts a nicely stocked supermarket with all the ethnic foods you may expect and more. They have different kiosks or departments which in some of them you have to pay in the same area. Ie. The panaderia, the kitchen/restaurant, the aguas frescas before you continue your shopping in the general area of the store. So be prepared to pay for specialty items separately. There is usually no wait time or very little. The kitchen may be the most time consuming getting your order ready but its expected, since most meals they prep for you they include everything you may need later on. Like if you order menudo or caldo de res, they warm tortillas, give you prechopped onion, cilantro, red peppers, limes all from scratch. Plus silverware and napkins. If youre not used to waiting a good 10-15 minutes, then order here first and continue your shopping to make it more convenient as this aint your typical fast food restaurant. Its more like a traditional sit-down waited service, even if you order to go. In which you may want to call ahead and place your order so its ready when you come in. Overall, great visit. Like other reviews say, it does help if you can at least understand Spanish a bit. It really does a long way in getting exactly what you need and not be misunderstood. Food tastes great like homemade, and its affordable and appealing. The closest thing to the real deal authentic, and I've had my fair share its hard to find meals this good nowadays. Im bookmarking this place...
Read moreBest place to grab a quick dinner for a good price.
We were staying in salt lake for the weekend, wanted real Mexican food. The Deli had all the good stuff and we fed our family of five for TWENTY Dollars. The soup selection was great, pastor tacos were super tender, and the horchata was literally the best I've had. There is a dinning area indoors after you order your food. (There aren't waiters as it is a deli style restaurant) We got all of our favorite treats at the Panderia too! Two bags of baked goods for four dollars.
This is real Mexican food from a real Mexican grocery store, it was better than many of the Mexican restaurants I had previously tried in Salt Lake, and I could pick up groceries and other necessities while I was there. That is a huge plus when you are traveling with kids.
The overall appearance of the store was clean and easy to shop. Employees were courteous and helpful. I wanted to eat there again, but since we were only in town for two days we decided to have dim sum for dinner the next night. Thanks Rancho Market for a...
