Koo De Ker — Local services in Salt Lake City

I was recommended this boutique by friends for affordable, fun styles, but I was quickly met with disappointment upon visiting the storefront a few weeks ago. The customer service at the store was appalling. The owner never addressed or acknowledged me, and she made me feel incredibly unwelcome. I was visiting after work and was wearing my work uniform, a standard T-shirt and jeans, so perhaps she thought I was “too underdressed” and of “too low of an income” to be shopping in her store? In addition, I felt everything was overpriced for the quality. Many clothing items felt cheap, made from low quality materials, with several loose threads, unlined and sheer. For how low quality the clothing was, the items could have been bought from an online, fast fashion store employing human rights violation practices. I would not...

This store is my absolute FAVORITE place to buy clothes. There is always a carefully curated selection of clothes, and it always feels special because I don't see her clothes at other stores. I also love it because since I've been shopping there for many years, the owner, Kyong, always recommends great items that she knows I will like, or something she knows will look good on me. It honestly saves me so much time when I can walk in and say... "what do you like right now?" Instead of me trying to look through racks of clothing and figure it out myself. I love supporting small local businesses, and really if this store wasn't here, I am not sure what I would do! Koo de Ker has dressed me for all my special occasions - countless weddings, parties and my first day on a new job....

Before purchasing multiple sizes and styles of a dress online, I called Koo De Ker to ask if I would be able to preorder more than one size to explore the fit and return the items that didn’t work. The employee on the phone confirmed I would be able to return the unwanted clothing so I placed the order.

It was only when I dropped into the store to return a handful of dresses that I was told the only form of refund is store credit.

I would not have placed the order I did if I was given accurate information when I called.

To make matters worse, after trying on multiple styles of clothing, nothing fit. I now have a large store credit to a store with limited sizing. Disappointed that the owner herself refused to take accountability for her employee’s inaccurate...
