La Barba Coffee and Breakfast Tacos — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

I’m truly exhausted by the amount of wasted money and time here. Good luck getting your correct order as the employees don’t listen and make you whatever the hell they feel like. Didn’t order eggs? Too bad. Didn’t even have eggs on the item menu?? Too bad you’re getting them anyways. I literally have an egg allergy and have wasted 20 different food runs to this location due to the employees not listening and persisting to speak with customers instead of helping the multiple people and starting drinks. What once was a solid quick coffee had turned into an entire debacle every time. My boyfriend and I were weekly avid regulars and showed our out of town friends this spot regularly. Will not be coming back. Will be going to Publik bc at least they listen to what you are ordering. Wouldn’t bother leaving a review if it were the second, third or even fourth time. But it’s almost every single visit. It’s just a waste of my time and money at this point. Sad tho, really loved the tacos when my order was right or I waited in store to correct their mistakes/ignoring. I assume the owners intended this to be a quick pleasant coffee spot, but I can’t trust them to make any of the food or drink right unless we sit and watch them do it and then turn around and correct basic things. Like “please no __” and then we turn around and that’s the ONLY thing in the taco. Or adding like I said eggs, to an option that doesn’t even have eggs listed on it. Don’t want to have to babysit my food and waste your resources...

Decided to visit based off of the combination of breakfast tacos and coffee.

Have heard good things and was expecting something a little more after arriving.

There are a lot of customers and it seems that the business has a hard time keeping up with the pace. I waited about 15 minutes for two burritos and a coffee. I was aware I would have to wait and was fine with it but realized after watching that there aren't enough people to keep up with the demand this place has and that the kitchen set up might actually be hindering their back of house operations.

The taco (which isn't a taco - it's a burrito) was mediocre and taste essentially like an egg bacon burrito I could make at home with perhaps a little more flavor.

The latte I had was not satisfying to me as a pretty frequent coffee drinker. It was weak and watery. I also might not have heard them call my number or something as my coffee was barely warm.

The environment is the opposite of what the name would indicate as it is a sterile and modern museum like space that is not comfortable or very inviting. This place based off of the name to me should have more elements that might make a person feel at home.

Not a terrible experience just not something I will be going out of my way to experience again. The price of my visit also...wasn't great...

It’s warm and inviting at first but then you realize that hipsters with a lack of customer service and a sense of urgency are going be serving you. They will get to you eventually if they aren’t nose deep in some social media blitz or something of that nature. The reasoning for two stars is that idea of this place came from good intentions but it was executed poorly. I was seriously overjoyed when I drove past this place and realize what you guys sold but the food wasn’t anything you want to remember and it lacked serious amounts of quality. It’s like someone decide that they could do the same thing or take the idea from someone else or a staple from another culture. If I was to bring everyone I knew who grew up on breakfast tacos to this place. I think they would honestly protest to have this place down shut down or at least let you know that you are destroying the concept of breakfast tacos. This place could be great but I don’t think you guys really know what real breakfast tacos are. Who knows maybe you guys will get better...
