I'm usually in a rush in the morning and I spend the extra money to doordash some bagels, a sandwich, and iced coffee to get me and the kids out the door.
Literally, the last four times I have done this, I get all the bagels and the sandwich, but I don't get my coffee. There's one time that I literally ordered three copies and didn't receive them. If you don't intend on sending coffee with a doordasher, take it off your menu.
We can get the coffee refunded, but it is just the price we paid. It does not include the fees, taxes, and tip based off of the item that we didn't receive. So we are technically not getting refunded all our money for something that we aren't getting.
Instead, sometimes, you will get a coupon in the bag for a free coffee. I don't want a free coffee at a later date. I want the coffee that I paid for when I ask for it. From a place that does two things pretty much- coffee and bagels- how can you screw up on the coffee front? It's extremely annoying and after this episode, I will probably be taking my business elsewhere.
The coupon is a nice gesture, but realize that when no one notifies the customer that they aren't getting something and we have to get it refunded, there are other fees, taxes, tip based off of the amount that you ordered, and other things that are not being refunded to us. So in the end, by having the option of ordering coffee and not receiving it, especially as high priced as it is, is a disservice to all of...
Read moreI periodically use Einstein's catering for our group meetings. Sometimes I really wish I could choose the location that brings our order because there are certain locations you will invariably have problems with and this location seems to be one. Placed an order at the beginning of the month for delivery. They offer a 15 minute delivery window. Most often they come before the earliest time in the window, so I chose 8:15 - 8:30 as my window. At 8:27 they still hadn't come so I called the store to clarify that we were at a library. On the call the guy explained that, "Oh yeah, I was going to call you to let you know we're running maybe 10 minutes late. Our driver got really lost going to the delivery before you. We have a delivery time-frame and we aim to be there at the latter time." He is explaining this at 8:33, which is already outside of the window but I'm thinking, "Wait, what? Who does that? Why would you aim for the end time? You almost guarantee your own failure at being within the delivery window." He said he'd call the driver and make sure they knew where we were. The driver didn't show up until well after 9:00 a.m., was completely unapologetic, and didn't even bother to set their display box up or anything for us. It was completely unacceptable. I guess caveat emptor: If you're wanting bagels for a meeting and are in the zone where you'll need this location, you might try picking them up instead. Or just call...
Read moreI can’t think of a time I have ever received such unwelcoming, unfriendly service. We walked it and the person at the register was on their phone, with one of their AirPods in (which they never took out). They rolled their eyes at us when we walked in. I’m not from Salt Lake and we don’t have Einstein back home so I told him I might need help. He offered none, and retorted with quick, sassy remarks with any question I or any one party had.
When we finished our order, we asked to pay and he through his hand up and pointed to the other end of the counter.
The restaurant itself had no seating. Just an empty, hollow shell of what looked like a place that might be out of business within a month or two.
The ONLY saving grace was my brisket bagel was exceptional. I didn’t know it came with chips and didn’t get a drink because one was not offered, nor was any sort of upsell to a meal.
Long and short, if you’re looking for cold, robotic, unhelpful service to get your food and go, this is a good...
