I will begin my review with the things I felt this restaurant did well. The staff was extremely kind and attentive to our needs. The presentation of their dishes was highly visually appealing. The calamari was absolutely delicious and all the pasta dishes were mostly great. The Luigi special could have been a bit more spicy, I understand that is personal preference though. Some things that I strongly believe this restaurant can work towards becoming five stars are related to the attention towards detail. The first issue we encountered was related to one of the side dishes, our cheese sticks had a long hair on it. I understand that mistakes happen and they were apologetic about it. However, food safety is highly important and as a Public Health professional, observing a long hair on my food indicates that someone was not wearing headgear in the kitchen to cover their hair. If corners are cut there, what other things could there be corners cut with? The second thing that happened was that the waiter forgot to place two of our children's dishes into the order, this lead to them watching others as they ate until their orders were eventually ready. One of the staff members stated that they were sorry for the inconvenience and that the items would be "on the house". To my surprise, I was still definitely charged for the dishes I question. There was no initial expectation for the plates to be on the house; however, if a staff member communicates to a customer that the dish is on the house, the customer will expect them to follow through with their promise. I strongly considered not tipping for essentially being sold an empty promise. However, I also understood that mistakes happen and the waiter treated us with kindness. The next item in question was the bread, it looks delicious but is devoid of any flavor. When we asked for oil, vinegar, and herbs to dip our bread in, they followed through with just the oíl and herbs. This was another instance where attention to detail was absent. Would I ever consider eating at Luigi's again or recommend it to others? The answer is absolutely yes. I believe this restaurant and its staff possess the blueprint towards becoming a great local restaurant. We all make mistakes and can learn from them. I would certainly give Luigi's another shot and I believe that they can grow from this experience.

Holy Cannoli did we find an Italian restaurant for you! I decided on an Italian restaurant on the night of my birthday here in San Angelo, Texas. The reviews were to our liking so the wife and I took off to sample some Italian dishes. Greeted by the owner we believe, he told us to sit wherever we wanted. I always prefer to choose where I am most comfortable. The chairs were very comfortable. Barrel chairs like the ones we have at home. Very comfortable and soft. Our server was Ashlyn who was freaking awesome. Amazing service and attention to detail. She made my birthday dinner an unforgettable evening with her warm and charming personality and professionalism. Ok, let's talk about the food. One of the reasons we chose Luigi's, outside of their great reviews, was the Baked Ziti on the menu. It's my favorite Italian dish. Ashlyn our server, started us off with the calamari appetizer. Lightly breaded and perfectly cooked, it was on point. Highly recommend this starter. Next we ordered some wine and of course it gave us an entrance to the ambience we were looking for. After a couple of glasses, we were ready for the "pasti dal cielo" our meals from heaven. Wifey went with the Chicken Parmesan and of course, I did the Baked Ziti with Meatballs! Magnifico!!! Ziti was overly delicious and the wife was smiling from ear to ear. To top it off, we were given a piece of delicious Chocolate Cheesecake that was yummy to the tummy. Do not drive past Luigi's if you can help it. We'll be back. Big Ups to our server Ashlyn. She was awesome!

My husband came home to let me know the remarkable experience he received from Luigi's in San Angelo. Feeling Italian and not wanting a big chain restaurant he decided to try somewhere he has never been before. He stated the staff was friendly and it had been the best service he had received from anywhere in San Angelo. Staff were there to check in, ensure he received everything necessary to have an enjoyable and complete meal. He had the stuffed mushroom appetizer which he said was delicious. He had the Linguini Seafood which was abundant with a mixture of delicious scallops, shrimp, and clams with a white wine alfredo sauce. The dishes due have in the spirit of true Italian cooking lots of garlic and lemon. When asked about desserts my husband was kind enough to think of me and my love for Italian treats and got the Limoncello cake, Tiramisu, Chocolate Mousse cake, and Cannoli. I was able to taste and compare to other places. The Tiramisu is on par with the ones served at Olive Garden but at a better price. Limoncello was delicious. Chocolate Mousse was rich and decadent. I will definitely be tagging along with my husband next time.

This was the first time my wife and I had been here. First impressions are lasting impressions and Luigis left one heck of an awesome impression. The atmosphere was amazing from the amount of space it has, the music being played made me feel like I was in a episode of the Sopranos.

The service was beyond amazing. Our waitress was Lyrik and she did an amazing job, the short amount of time that she has been working here, she was very knowledgeable of the menu and made some great recommendations for us to try. The gentleman that sat us down also was amazing and turns out, he is the owners brother and blended in so well with the other waiters/waitresses. For me, that's a huge deal as he doesn't seem the type of person to put himself above their employees. That makes the environment more enjoyable for the staff, resulting in better service for us customers.

The food was DELICIOUS!!! The stuffed mushrooms was a recommendation that did not disappoint us. Flavor was there and the sauce was addicting. The pink sauce, the garlic & oil goes perfect with the bread. I just got the spaghetti with meatsauce and they even presented that dish very well and the flavor was there to go with it. My wife ordered the Pomadora and she was not unsatisfied with the flavors that dish offered as well as the presentation of her dish. Each of our dishes had plenty of food on them. Their Chocolate moose was also delicious.

The only complaint I have, is I wish I had a little more extra room in my stomach for more of their food.

We will definitely be back to try other...
