During our recent stay at the Drury Inn San Antonio Riverwalk, we had the pleasure of witnessing exceptional service and leadership from Inelania Piedra, the Assistant General Manager. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that Inelania is a dedicated and attentive leader who goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest has a memorable experience.
Inelania stood out not just for her professionalism but also for her willingness to roll up her sleeves and work alongside her team. It was impressive to see her take on multiple roles with ease. Whether she was serving meals, tending the bar, or running food to tables, Inelania was always there, leading by example. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious, and it was clear that she inspired her team to perform at their best.
One evening, we noticed that the hotel was particularly busy, and instead of staying behind the scenes, Inelania was right there in the dining area, helping her team manage the crowd. She wasn’t just giving orders from a distance; she was actively engaged, ensuring that every guest was attended to promptly. Her ability to multitask and her deep understanding of her team’s needs were remarkable. She seamlessly moved from serving drinks to checking on food orders, always with a smile and a warm demeanor.
What truly sets Inelania apart is her genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. She took the time to check in with us and other guests personally, asking if there was anything we needed and ensuring that we were enjoying our stay. It’s rare to find a manager who is so hands-on and attentive, especially in a hotel setting. Her approachability and friendliness made us feel like valued guests rather than just another reservation.
Inelania’s leadership style is one that fosters a positive and collaborative environment. She clearly understands that a team is most effective when everyone works together, and she exemplifies this every day. We could see the respect and admiration her team had for her, as they followed her lead and worked diligently to meet the needs of the guests. It’s no wonder that the service at Drury Inn is top-notch; with a leader like Inelania at the helm, excellence is the standard.
In conclusion, our experience at Drury Inn San Antonio Riverwalk was significantly enhanced by Inelania Piedra’s outstanding leadership and dedication to her role. She is not just an assistant general manager but a true asset to the Drury Inn team. Her willingness to go the extra mile, her hands-on approach, and her commitment to ensuring every guest has a wonderful experience made our stay unforgettable. We left feeling refreshed and appreciated, thanks in large part to Inelania and her incredible team. If you’re looking for a hotel that prioritizes guest satisfaction with a leader who embodies excellence, look no further than Drury Inn San Antonio Riverwalk. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Thank you, Inelania, for making our vacation...
Read moreAn absolute pleasure to stay at a hotel that cares so much about their guests and their experience. ||Positives: Too many to name, but here are a few. |1. Greeted at the parking area by Rolando. Excellent rep for the hotel. Told where to park and go in to the hotel to get registered. He also recognized my wife and I and took a moment to speak with us every day of our trip. He represents the hotel brand very well! Kudos Rolando!|2. Free Breakfast is outstanding. No made to order omelets, but everything else was top notch. Large selection of items and everything from very fresh.|3. Free Evening Kick-back - One again, outstanding with a good selection. One could very easily only eat at the hotel and enjoy the rest of San Antonio without ever purchasing an evening meal. It also provides each guest with 3 alcoholic drinks each evening along with unlimited soft drinks. You have to like whatever they are featuring that evening, but if you do, you will not go hungry.|4. Location, Location, Location - this hotel is almost literally in the the heart of the Riverwalk. Easy in and Easy out to everything and very convenient.|5. Special Shout out to the Lady Assistant Manager who was on duty Thursday 6/5/25. She went out of her way to make our 30th Anniversary special. We did not tell the hotel anything up front, but she did a couple of things for us that went a long way to making us feel like Drury royalty! Thank you....I only wish I had caught your name.|7. Rooms were always clean and kept nice for us during our stay.||Negatives: Not many, but here are very picky ones|1. Our room floor space was smaller than some other hotels. 10' high ceilings and nice woodwork in the rooms, but a slightly smaller footprint than some hotel rooms.|2. Things can get crowded at Breakfast and Kickback. Breakfast is probably OK if you arrive early, but after 9am, there were always people there. Same at kickback. At 5:30, there is already a line for the drinks. Get there early to sit at a table before it officially starts.|3. Parking is pretty tight, depending on your vehicle. We were in a full size rental Altima, and did not have any issues, but large vehicles may not like the parking setup. Again, Rolando made us feel like we were coming home each day when we came back from our adventures.||Again, those were picky negatives, and I am not sure there is much the hotel can do about any of the three, besides completely renovating the hotel layout.||In short, this was one of the best hotel stays I have had anywhere in North America. I have stayed on business in other San Antonio Riverwalk hotels, and wish I had stayed here instead. Maybe only a night at Mandalay Bay in Vegas may surpass it, but then again, Vegas did not have free breakfast and Evening Kickback. Enjoy the hotel and enjoy the Riverwalk. It is an experience all...
Read moreI stayed at the Drury in San Antonio for four days and three nights, and let me tell you, it was an adventure before I even got to the front desk. The staff were super nice and welcoming, but that check-in process? Whew. Picture this: you drive into the tiniest, tightest drive-in space with basically no wiggle room, get on the intercom to announce you’re just turning around, then leave the area, do a full 360°, and come back again so you can squeeze into an alleyway just to check in. By the time I finally parked, I felt like I passed an exam and should’ve earned a driver’s license upgrade, lol. Once we got our key cards, though, everything smoothed out.
Our room was clean and comfortable (though no trash liners in the bins. It kind of sucked, so if you’re picky about that, bring your own). The best surprise was the balcony. The view of the river was beautiful, but the highlight was being able to watch the church’s projector show at night from the comfort of our own balcony. Free entertainment from the room? Yes, please.
The room, hotel amenities and the rooftop pool were all on the 7th floor. As for the pool, I only swam once, but being in the water, while looking out at the city skyline felt like a little slice of vacation luxury.
The hotel also has a gym and a washer/dryer room. Now, the machines definitely have some years on them, they were a bit dated, if I can recall correctly, there was 2 washers and 1 dryer and only take quarters (yes, the old-fashioned kind). Thankfully, the front desk acts as a “quarter exchange” if you need change.
The complimentary breakfast and dinner were huge perks. Breakfast had plenty of variety to start the day right, and dinner was a nice bonus after running around all day with my GodSon. I never made it back for lunch because we were always out exploring, but having two solid meals included was more than enough.
And speaking of exploring, the location is hard to beat, you’re close to the River Walk, the Alamo, Market Square, and more. Despite the parking shuffle and the throwback laundry machines, I’d recommend this hotel for the friendly staff, the food perks, the balcony views, and that rooftop pool. Just bring your sense of humor… and a pocket full of quarters. Ohh, before I forget, the parking garage was narrow and compact. Bigger vehicles could probably enter but be careful. I have a smaller suv and we were fine. There are other restrooms, if you need, one in our room, one on the floor level by the gym and pool area and one in the lobby! All were clean to use....
