I recently went on a Go Rio River Boat Tour with my friend and her family, and we had such a fun time! Our tour guide, Bobby, was so funny and friendly, and he made the tour really enjoyable. He told us all about the history of the city in a fun and entertaining way, and he even pointed out some of the filming locations for movies like Selena and Miss Congeniality.
We also got to see some of the city's most famous landmarks from the water, including the Alamo, the Tower of the Americas, and the Rivercenter Mall. It was a great way to get a different perspective on the city, and we learned a lot about its history and culture.
I would definitely recommend Go Rio River Boat Tours to anyone visiting San Antonio. It's a fun and educational way to see the city, and Bobby is a great tour guide.
Here are some additional details about our experience:
We went on the 45-minute narrated cruise, which was the perfect length. It was long enough to learn a lot about the city, but not too long to get bored. The boat was comfortable and spacious, and there was plenty of seating. The weather was perfect for a boat ride, and the views from the water were amazing. We all had a great time, and we would definitely recommend Go Rio River Boat Tours to anyone visiting San Antonio. Here are some tips for planning your own Go Rio River Boat Tour:
Book your tickets in advance, especially if you're visiting during peak season. Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be doing some walking on the Riverwalk. Bring sunscreen and a hat, if you're visiting during the day. Bring a camera, so you can capture all the memories. I hope you have a great time on your Go Rio...
Read more⭐☆☆☆☆ Terrible experience – Racist and aggressive behavior by tour operator
I had an extremely disturbing and unacceptable experience during a boat tour at the San Antonio Riverwalk. From the beginning, the tour operator treated my family with clear hostility, ordering us around rudely and without explanation. My five-year-old son, who was simply pretending to howl like a wolf out of excitement, was publicly shamed and told to be quiet in an aggressive manner.
Later, the operator forced us off the boat before the tour was over, again without reason. The worst part of the incident was when my nephew was physically assaulted by the operator after attempting to reboard the boat. The operator also falsely claimed our family was extremely disruptive, which is completely untrue. One of my relatives doesn’t speak English and simply didn’t understand an instruction – a situation that was blown out of proportion and used to justify mistreatment.
This experience was not only humiliating and traumatic, but also appeared to be racially motivated, as we are a Hispanic family. There were small children involved, and the emotional harm caused was significant.
I have filed a police report and initiated legal action. I strongly advise families — especially Spanish-speaking or non-English-speaking tourists — to avoid this company. Their behavior was unacceptable and should be investigated...
Read moreSurprisingly entertaining and interesting. I expected the Riverwalk to be more of less a tourist trap--and it certainly is that but it was actually much more beautiful of an area than I expected. The bridges and the winding river and trees create a shady oasis during the hot days and the multicolored lights add to the atmosphere at night. The boat tour is the best way to see and appreciate the whole area. We took the tour in the evening, and the boats were beautifully lit with various colors. Our tour guide was engaging and funny. Even though the boat was full, it was easy to hear the guide and we received a good overview of the buildings and history of the area, along with some funny anecdotes. There are several embarkation points and many boats that run late into the night, but there was still a line to get on. So definitely allow at least an hour for the activity. We were lucky, as we approached the ticket booth inside the mall, a couple offered us their unused tickets for free. I do think the tour is well worth the money. Especially if it's your first visit. Alternatively, you can buy tickets for boats that run more like a bus would up and down the river, which we definitely plan to try on our next vsit to see more of the less busy parts of...
