My stay at Hotel Valencia was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we walked through the elegant doors, we were treated to a level of service that can only be described as first-class. The color palate of the hotel was very welcoming and we almost felt like we were on an island resort on our honeymoon.
The staff's attention to detail was impeccable, and even though there were a couple of minor missteps during our stay, Sarah, a Front Desk Supervisor and true gem among the hotel's staff, turned our experience into something truly exceptional.
Sarah went above and beyond to ensure that my wife and I had a memorable stay. Her professionalism and dedication were evident as she not only resolved the issues we encountered but also surprised us with upgrades that were out of this world. Seriously! The room she arranged for us was not only really spacious but also luxuriously appointed, with breathtaking views that made our evenings truly magical. Sarah even made a greeting card, left a bottle of wine and cheese for my wife when she arrived. The rooms were clean and did not smell moldy. The rooms were overstocked with upscale amenities (an abundance of towels and pillows with amazing comfort in bed). Room service was on point with the food warm and ready to eat.
The dining experience at the hotel was equally impressive. The restaurant's ambiance was delightful, and the food was a culinary masterpiece. We indulged in a few cultural dishes, each prepared to perfection, and the wine selection was outstanding. At night, the bar was very lively and there was also live music on the other side of the hotel.
Hotel Valencia's prime location allowed us to explore the RiverWalk and other downtown attractions with ease. Hotel Valencia is on the quieter more romanic end of the Riverwalk, but very close to the main busy thoroughfare with just a short stroll. The concierge was ALWAYS ready with valuable recommendations and insights. Back to Sarah, she recommended these great restaurants and unique eating spots which included Pinkerton's BBQ, The Palm and Bohannan's for Steak, Acenar, Bunz Burgers that was excellent, Poblano's, and La Panadera.
In summary, our stay at Hotel Valencia was a memorable experience that exceeded our expectations. Despite a few initial hiccups, which can happen anywhere, the exceptional service, courtesy of Sarah, and the sheer luxury of our upgraded accommodations made this trip truly unforgettable. We can't wait to return and experience the warmth and opulence of Hotel Valencia once again. This needs to be on your bucket list if you ever stay in...
Read moreI had an excellent stay at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio. This hotel delivers a fantastic blend of upscale charm, prime location, and top-notch hospitality.
Location & Atmosphere
Hotel Valencia is perfectly situated along the famed Riverwalk, offering a prime spot for both relaxation and people-watching. If you’re looking for a hotel that puts you right in the heart of the action, this is it. The building itself is beautifully maintained, with a blend of classic and contemporary Spanish-inspired design, making for a luxurious yet comfortable stay.
Rooms & Comfort
I specifically chose a room overlooking the Riverwalk, and it did not disappoint. The balcony option is definitely worth it, providing a great vantage point to soak in the energy of the area. If you’re debating between a full balcony and a Romeo & Juliet balcony, go for the full balcony—it gives you space to truly enjoy the view.
The rooms are clean, stylish, and well-kept, with comfortable bedding and thoughtful touches that elevate the experience. The soundproofing is decent, but keep in mind that the Riverwalk is lively at night, and the early morning clean-up crews can create some noise. This isn’t a dealbreaker—it’s just part of the experience when staying in such a prime location.
Service & Staff
One of the standout aspects of Hotel Valencia is the staff. From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, professional, and incredibly accommodating. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or restaurant staff, everyone was attentive and made sure my stay was seamless.
Food & Amenities
The hotel has a great on-site restaurant and bar, which is a nice option if you want a quieter meal or drink without venturing into the busier parts of the Riverwalk. The courtyard and common areas are beautifully designed, adding to the overall ambiance of the hotel.
Final Thoughts & Recommendation
If you’re visiting San Antonio and want a luxurious yet centrally located hotel, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk is a fantastic choice. The location, staff, and overall experience make it worth every penny. Just be mindful of the lively nightlife outside—embrace it as part of the charm rather than a drawback.
Tip: Opt for a full balcony room rather than a Romeo & Juliet balcony—it makes a big difference in your ability to truly enjoy the Riverwalk views.
Would definitely stay here again!...
Read moreWe celebrated my birthday at Hotel Valencia. It was such an amazing stay and very happy we chose to celebrate here!
Our valet, Mo, was an absolute gem to work with all weekend! Even when I realized I left some items in my car, he raced to retrieve with a smile on his face.
We were warmly greeted at the front desk with margaritas and a smile. We were initially confused when we first arrived on where to check in. A sign stating check-in on second floor would be helpful.
Upon entering our room, we were hit with an overwhelming scent, which I'm guessing is the hotels signature scent. I'm sensitive to scents like these, so it made for a long weekend. I'm also wondering if this hotel used to allow smoking previously as the overwhelming scent seemed to be trying to cover up old smoke. Once we were back home, all of our belongings smelled like smoke vs. their scent. And sadly, whoever designed the venting for our room didn't think things through - the only vent was located in the corner and blew the width of the room, not towards the rest of the room. I'm not sure if the vent in our bathroom was an exhaust fan or an ac vent, but it was not working, which made for showing and getting ready less than ideal.
We stayed 2 nights, so there was no need for housekeeping to visit, but requesting a coffee bar refill ended up being trickier than expected. We ended up having to request two separate times (phone and at front desk).
They surprised us while we were out to dinner with cake and champagne! It was a thoughtful touch for our celebration.
Everyone we made contact with seemed to truly enjoy being at work and helping all the guests. From valet to bellman to front desk.
We loved the location as the Riverwalk was literally downstairs from the hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated! The courtyard area is charming, and we enjoyed watching the tango dancers. We spent both evenings on the restaurant's patio while enjoying the weather and sites. It's a shame the buildings across the river are currently vacant, and in need of some love. But hopefully, they will be fixed up soon. We will definitely stay again on our next San...
