Oblate Clay — Attraction in San Antonio

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Oblate Clay and I can confidently say it has been a most rewarding experiences of my clay/throwing/pottery life (9 months!) From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted and shown around (and quickly joined!) by Ana and an extremely creative and inviting atmosphere, filled with the delicious earthy scent of clay (iykyk)

Scott is a solid and very experienced instructor and other members are not only incredibly talented but also genuinely passionate about teaching/helping. Their gracious words, helpful advice and enthusiasm made every moment enjoyable, even as I struggle sometimes with clay.

The range of classes offered is impressive, catering to all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned potters. I loved the small class sizes, which allowed for personalized attention and a very supportive environment.

Elena the extraordinary kiln master and instructor, is so friendly and helpful- wow just everyone is so great! (And Talented!)

What truly sets Oblate Clay apart is the sense of community. I meet so many wonderful people any time I’m there, and we shared not just our creations but also our stories and laughter. It felt like a home away from home.

My 14 year old daughter was interested in ceramics and the 2 hour class worked out to be a great first session. Danielle our instructor was insightful and relatable. She even was able to smooth out parts that would have typically just be complete do overs.
