It’d be wrong to not leave a review. I was initially going to eat at another popular Mexican restaurant down the road but they were packed. Reader, you may know which one I’m talking about. Maybe in the same shoes as I was… I stumbled across this gem & left happier than I expected. It was slow at first. Took a minute to get my drink. Took a minute to get my order. Little did I know it would be all worth it. It will be worth it!
The price, the portions…THE PRESENTATION. You can tell the kitchen was meticulous about it. (You know when you’re looking at the pics on their menu and hope it looks just like that? This was that.) Everything was neaty plated. No dry spots on my enchiladas. No tortilla chip without cheese. I took no time to take a picture. I always take a picture!
Now I was hoping it was warm. Yes, it was just right. 🔥 There was no skimping on the sauces, seasonings, cheeses, toppings, etc. felt like being at my grandmas house in Mexico. I always miss it.
We had the mole enchiladas, shrimp enchiladas, fish chicharrones , and beef nachos.
Left full & beyond satisfied. Please don’t overlook this spot. I could just taste and tell that the owners and kitchen staff take great pride in their quality of food. I don’t know them, but I felt like I understood them through this incredible meal. Theres some serious skill in this menu. I can’t wait to come back. Haven’t had food this good in a while. I’ll drive 20 mins from Stone Oak for this all over again. Wishing you...
Read moreWe just went to the one on San Pedro. After waiting about 15 minutes to STILL not be acknowledged I had to get the girls attention and she rolled her eyes and shook her head. She finally came over and when we started to place our order since we had way more than enough time to look at the online menu since we never received an actual menu. She told us we couldn’t put in an order until the large party that was there put in their order. Why would we have to wait for their order if our order would get put in first? Other than the large party it was not busy in there. 2 tables already had their food and the other table with 4 people were still looking at the menu. Very bad business practice. Probably no wonder why it was empty in there and the other restaurant down the...
Read moreToday was our first visit to Maya Cafe, Sea Food Restaurant where we were welcomed and attended by Santiago a very friendly and professional waiter who quickly brought our menu. We ordered Mojara Frita and a Carne Asada plate, a coffee and a cucumber lemonade, all were delicious. The cuisine style is Oaxaca cuisine that has a soft mild flavor that is light on salt, yet very agreeable to the taste. They provide house made sauces made from red or green and they have a variety of three typical table hot sauces and salt for customers to further spice up their plates. Maya Cafe, Sea Food Restaurant is new here, roughly about four months old, the meals are good and the staff are friendly and professional, best of all the prices are...
