I’m in town for the day and was looking forward to treating myself 😋
I came in for brunch, turned out brunch wasn’t available, so I ordered off the lunch menu. No problem. Sat at the bar, ordered the Wagyu burger, no modifications. I’m easy like that. She didn’t ask if I wanted anything changed, but again, I’m not picky.
She asked if I wanted water, I said bottled, they didn’t have any, I said tap was fine. Only had bottled water at the front desk I believe she said. No biggie 😌 I said no when she asked if I wanted ice. What did I get? A water with ice. Odd, but I didn’t mention anything. Maybe she was new or nervous or something. Wasn’t a big deal. I wanted to check out the drink menu anyways! Try something different you know? A house specialty coffee or a local beer. Anything! I asked for a beverage menu—alcoholic, non-alcoholic. Just wanted to see what they had. She walked off, entered my food order, and proceeded to do everything except bring a drink menu. Minutes passed. Still no drink menu. I’m just sitting there, staring at the ice water I didn’t want, being patient. I’m not even occupied with my phone or anything. I’m just sitting there. Eventually, I gave up and pulled up the drink menu on my phone. I found one from 11 months here on Google..
By the time I found the drink menu myself, my burger and fries were already in front of me. Still no drink. Still no menu. At this point, I’m sitting there, with a full meal, and nothing to drink but the wrong water. I’m thinking, what is happening right now?
The other bartender, with the sport jacket was pre occupied with the banquet at first, i didn’t expect great service from her. Or any service now that I think of it. But the forgetful one was just looking confused or hiding behind the computer the entire time.
I’m not someone who gets upset easily. I’m happy. I’m healthy. I treat people with respect. But if I’d been with my lady or my family, we would’ve had a serious problem with how I was being treated. The experience felt careless and disrespectful.
Eventually, another bartender, the one in the sport jacket, noticed I hadn’t touched my plate. She kindly asked if I needed anything. I kindly asked for the Espresso Gogo drink. She said she’d take care of it right away. Cool.
I finally dig into the burger. Minutes pass. Still no drink. More minutes pass and now I’m halfway through the burger, which was actually good. But I’m still just staring at that same wrong water. The sport jacket bartender starts handing out leftover margaritas from a banquet to everyone at the bar. Thanks for that. But… no thanks.
She eventually tells me my drink is on the way. I’m done eating at this point. I asked for just a latte.
The latte finally comes.… after I was done with my meal. Crazy right? My beverage came after my meal. At any other restaurant, drinks usually come first. I come to this restaurant and they hand out beverages after meals?? What a joke. Why couldn’t I get a drink menu right away? Why did you treat me like that?
Here’s the bonus ☺️ I didn’t even see this part coming! I give sport jacket girl my card to pay. She hands it to the other bartender to process. That bartender comes over, gives me my card and receipt, says “Have a great day,” and immediately turns her back on me before I can even say thank you or make eye contact. Wow. That was the final kick in the gut. Completely dismissive.
There are no two sides to this. This is exactly what happened. I was respectful the entire time. Overly respectful, even. I said thank you more times than I needed to. I came in happy, and I left confused and disrespected.
I don’t expect special treatment, but I expected basic service.
This place seriously needs...
Read moreMy associate and I brought our clients here for a business dinner and it did not disappoint. I work in an old school industry where everyone just wants to go to a traditional steakhouse so when I came across the menu for Corinne I knew this would be the perfect place as they had an elevated experience from your traditional steakhouse options while still offering dishes that could please my clients.
To start we ordered for the table the Navajo bread. This bread was sort of like a pita that had been deep fried. The outside was warm and crispy while the inside was fluffy and soft. Served with the bread was whipped butter with spicy agave which complemented the bread perfectly. A delicious mix of savory, sweet and spicy to start the meal.
For my main I wanted very badly to order the steak Oscar but the many listed the pork ribeye as their signature dish so I couldn't pass that up. The pork arrived with a large bone in cut from the rib. The pork was cooked perfectly and spiced very nicely with a sweet sauce on top which I believe may have been some sort of agave. This piece of pork was so good that I had to hold myself back from knowing on the bone as I had finished the rest.
The rest of my party did order the steak Oscar and really enjoyed but I still think I made the better choice.
For sides we ordered the corn esquites, Mac and cheese and when my clients inquired about potatoes which wasn't an option listed for the sides, the restaurant was amenable and took the side potatoes that are normally served with another dish and offered as a table sized side for us which I was very impressed that they were willing to do. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Mac and cheese and a nice bite from the jalapeño and was delicious and creamy. My favorite side was the esquites. An elevated take on a typical street food, this dish provided sweet corn, charred jalapeño with cotija cheese to add a nice richness saltiness to the dish and hominy which I hadn't tried before but reminded me in flavor of a small ball of masa.
Service and food were extremely well done at Corinne snd the restaurant provided a very nice ambiance for a quaint dinner. A successful business dinner was held there but this would be a perfect place to go out on a date.
I hope that I will be back in the San Antonio area soon enough so I can come back and visit...
Read moreWife and I went for Thanksgiving meal. Was $65 per person and expected a fantastic meal. I should have known how the experience was going to be when I had to ask the waiter if we could order drinks when never offered any. Following on I thought it would be redeemed because the soup was outstanding. Salad followed which was unbearable. Then the main course came out. Turkey for my wife and prime rib for myself. Both of our meals were cold to the touch as were the sides. The only thing remotely warm on the plate was mashed potatoes. It took over thirty minutes to get someone to come to our table to discuss this. It took so long as this point I didn't event want to wait for dessert that was included in the meal. By the time we did get someone, our concern was met with “I feel you bro”. Nothing further. my wife had to go find somebody for us to receive the check which still took an exceptionally long time. Initially, he brought the check for full amount. I pointed this out and waited additional time for a reduced check which was minimally discounted. At this point my wife and I were in such dismay we just wanted to leave.
I would also like to point out that there was at least one more table, and Arveson experiencing the same concerns and issues throughout the entire dining experience from the quality and temperature of the food to the lack of service.
It really disheartened me to write a negative review as I do believe we are all human beings and have off days, but the manner in which this was handled and utter disregard for the customers warrants this information to be provided so there is a clear photo for anybody attempting to dine at the...
