Staying here for a couple nights while in town. I’m familiar with San Diego as I’ve lived here for 20+ years. Hotel Circle is known locally for its ā€œshiftyā€ crowds and activities. Nevertheless, I decided to stay here as it says it’s a 3 star compared to the 2’s that surround this area. Upon arrival, I realized that I stayed here years ago. Check in was quick and seamless. Pros: Location. Close to a lot of attractions and things to do. Right off the highway. Cleanliness. The room was clean and free of bedbugs and other insects. Restaurant and store. There is a restaurant on the property. I ordered a cheese pizza my first night. It was decent. A store is also located here. Everything is extremely over priced. I would suggest buying your food and drink elsewhere. + Windows open Con’s: The rooms. They could use a facelift. Decent for the price you pay but yeah. Cracks on the ceiling, scuff marks throughout, random tape on the ceiling and tight bathrooms. The shower needs work as does the Faucet. No closet or microwave. No Continental breakfast: Totally dropped the ball here. Even though this is a good location, getting to restaurants without a car is challenging. A free breakfast in the morning would bebe clutch. The crowd: I’ve noticed some sketchy and or borderline questionable activity during these past 24 hours. Allot of roaming at night. A guy has been loitering in the parking lot with his belongings for most of the day. To conclude: If I could do it again, I would stay at a hotel with more amenities along with updated rooms and free breakfast. With that said, I’m not disappointed in my purchase. It was sufficient for what I had going on. I would recommend staying here if you are on a budget and looking for a bang for your buck.

TLDR; Booked through priceline, ended up cancelling reservation at the checkin process due to check in clerk being extremely rude, disrespectful, condescending, threatening, and hostile. Read on for the story.

Booked a reservation for one night for myself and fiance through priceline with check in date of 12/11. After arriving at 7:29, i find a note on the door saying "Back in 30". We wait for roughly 35 minutes until the doors open. I go to check in after seeing other costumers filing in. I stand in line and am 3rd. Before the check in lady begins, she calls out "are any of you with that woman out there?" One of the other costumers says "what?" and the clerk says again "that woman who was just at the door, are any of you with her?" When i inform her that yes, that is my fiance, the clerk begins a winded tyrade about the following: Make sure i tell my fiance that she is legally allowed a 30 minute lunch in the state of california for her shift and that she took exactly 30 minutes because she timed herself perfectly (disrespectful to me trying to make me a messenger boy for her gripes about my fiance) That she could call the cops on my fiance for knocking at the door if there was any damage done (i presume that since she did not call the cops and the door was not damaged, that this veiled threat was not the case) That she is working a 15 hour shift and pregnant and she is not going to put up with my fiance's attitude (hostile venting from frustration)

After around 1 minute of her talking, i interrupt her and inform her that i dont appreciate her coming at me like this as I am not a messenger boy for her gripes and came in here to check into my room for the night. She then stops her rant, and starts helping the other waiting costumers. Upon reaching the counter, i try and diffuse the tension by introducing myself and asking her name (no name tag) which her reply is "I dont feel comfortable giving that information to you." Feeling pretty disrespected and unwelcomed, i then proceed to offer some feedback about the sign and putting a designated time would be more clear for costumers. This prompted her to interrupt me with full defensiveness about how the sign was fine, she only took 30 minutes and knew this because she timed herself and knows when we pulled up because she saw me checking the door. She then repeats herself from earlier about how she is allowed to have a 30 minute lunch, reiterates her pregnancy and 15 hour shift, and that i am welcome to cancel my reservation. I sigh upon realizing that she has no intention of respecting me, is only interested in talking over me and expressing her power through any means necessary and will treat me like anything but another human.

I choose to cancel my reservation as the check in process entails me handing over my ID card and Credit card to this person which i was not going to do. I have no trust in her or this establishment. She proceeds to cancel my reservation and informs me she has done her part. I ask if i could get a printout confirmation that she has cancelled and she tells me there is none that i will have to go through priceline to handle anything further. I see the business cards at the desk and take one and ask for her managers name and am met with no verbal answer, just her standing and glaring at me. I ask her again with no reply. I confirm again that shes is not going to help me any further which is met again with "i have handled everything on my side." I frustratingly give up and start to walk out and am met with with the most condescending "You have a blessed night sir" as i walk out the door. I don't give her any reply. Oh yeah, upon talking with priceline an hour later, she had not canceled the reservation on her end and they had to reach out personally to get it cancelled before they would refund me.

So, that was my first and last experience with Atwood. At best it was a disgruntled pregnant employee, at worst its an establishment that doesnt care. Might be both. Ill let others...

1•9•2019 VERY Unprofessional. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Firstly, If the housekeeper had at LEAST apologized then I MIGHT have not put up this review. But did they? Nope. Unfortunately I have to put up this review for that being one of the reasons. Clearly this housekeeper wasn’t raised with manners and lives with no care towards other peoples’ belongings. I understand that mistakes happen but if you can’t even do a simple apology then you shouldn’t be allowed to touch lost & found items. I doubt you, the housekeeper, will ever read this but if you do then I hope you take the time to learn how to be careful and realize that apologies are sometimes needed.

So my boyfriend bought me some flowers in a vase(that his Mom gave me)for my birthday and I decided to leave them in my family’s room for the week that they stayed. Later.. My Mom thought that it was part of the hotel so she left it behind. I didn’t find this out until hours later after leaving and I just got annoyed. So.... We called and they said that the housekeepers are gone for the day so to call back tomorrow. I called the next day, yesterday, and they said that the lady who cleaned our room wasn’t there that day. They said that they would check and call me back. THEY DIDN’T CALL BACK. So my Mom calls and they say the same thing and that the guest staying that room wasn’t there. So my Mom calls today and this lady that works at the front desk, in the morning, basically says how she ā€œshouldn’t have even left it thereā€. Wow. Okay. This is the same lady that said she would call back later and didn’t even bother to until my Mom told her about the vase again. Alright anyways, They tell us that that the housekeeper put the vase in a bag and on her way to the lost and found she BROKE IT. The room wasn’t even that far from the lobby! It’s literally around the corner and down this short hall. How could someone be so careless? I really don’t understand. If I cleaned rooms or even houses as a living I would make sure that this person’s belongings were safe. That would be my priority so I have my doubts on what really happened. Not only that, She didn’t even bother to apologize. She just said that she put my vase in a bag and on her way to lost and found it dropped and that it broke. That was it. Unbelievable. I’ve e-mailed the manager so I hope I can get a response!

1•14•2018 Still no reply although I was told that he checks them regularly so I guess he might have just scrolled on or ignored it. I was also told that he’s on vacation so I hope that he’s just been busy and didn’t ignore my e-mail to him because I’m not going to give up on what happened. It was an important vase to my...

I’m very upset to say the least… I rented a room due to having a interview on May 29th and when I arrived at the hotel I had already paid for my room with Booking all went smooth with that part.. I walk into the front desk to get myself check in and talk to a young gentleman which was very professional and very helpful but for some reason no one could figure out if the room was clean yet so it was a dash to call and try and find the cleaning person to make sure if the room was clean or not šŸ¤” by the way the young man was very sorry for the inconvenience and I understood but due to the longggggg drive I was very tired and wanted to get settled and get myself organized for my interview the next morning. He also informed me that I needed to do a deposit and it would go back on my card šŸ‘šŸ¼ in three days. Well two days before I had arrived I had my hair color which by the way was not a permanent color. Well the next morning I shower and some of the hair color comes out which I used one towel for my hair.. I knew the way the hotel clean and sanitize it would come out.. before I left and check out my room was very clean I never even slept under the covers due to me bring my own blanket and pillow so bed was not messed up my trash was all taken out myself I even made sure the bathroom counter and the other counters were wipe down so the cleaning person didn’t have much to do. I’m very OCD !! So this morning I check to see if my deposit has finally been put back on my card šŸ¤” No it has not….. So I call and speak to a gentleman and ask why my deposit has not been put back and by the way my deposit was $60 and the removed $72 dollars and the man said damage because of the stain in towel I said what… no used towel is not $72 dollars and maybe $15 but you are recharging me for my room not ok and I was told I need to call back when a supervisor comes in at 10am what in the world.. The towels in my room were not NEW AT ALL GIVE ME A BREAK ! !! By the way this hotel should of call and talk to me if there was a issue not just charge me… I could see them calling and saying we are charging you for the one towel $15 ok but not $72 this is not a high end hotel and by the way I have had this before with my hair color due to a few weeks out the hair color still comes out your hair so what they are telling me is we can’t wash are hair and use the towels when we know dang well the have to wash the sheets and towels and bedding with special detergent/ bleach to remove any stains because they do not use brand new sheets or towels I know better .. I will be calling back...
