I only gave 1 star because I couldn't give zero. There was free parking (in the fairly dark) garage below, and outside, & plenty of hot water. Otherwise, there was nothing good to say about the property, which looked at least 45 years old & was in severe need of renovation. There were dingy outdoor passageways, old, beat-up & SLOW elevators (3 floors) & decaying walkways. Guests are expected not to smoke in the rooms, or hallways, which didn't stop some from smoking outside their doors--making it impossible to enter my room (and others) without walking through the smoke. The in-room kitchens were completely empty: no utensils, no plates or glasses, nothing to make it possible to eat in the room--not that you would want to! No housekeeping--guests were instructed to ask for it. I asked 2-3 times for additional towels (enough to cover my regrettable 3-day stay) & never got them. I had to pick them up from the front desk, myself. I asked 2-3 times to have my bed made each day: it never was. The free breakfast was in a windowless, dingy room and included only waffles (to make yourself) as hot food, using the same handles that everyone else had used (no sanitation available) . There was a container of hard-boiled eggs sitting on the table with nothing to keep them cold. Everything offered had sugar in it--no fruit or plain toast. The clientele was sketchy and I actually called the police (around 12:15 am), my final night, after the front desk agent advised me that there was no security on the premises that night, because I was seriously concerned that there could be a domestic disturbance occurring above me. I could hear a man shouting and swearing, the running-around of a child, adult(s) walking around like horses, & what sounded - like chairs being shoved across the carpetless floor. I was afraid there could be a woman being beaten & no child should have to be subjected to the behavior I could hear. I lay in my bed, in the dark, until after the police arrived, announced themselves twice, and apparently left shortly thereafter. It was much quieter afterwards. I was afraid there would be the assumption that it was the person in the room below, & there would be possible retaliation. I couldn't wait for morning to get the hell out of that place! I asked to use the self-service luggage "cart" I had seen, & was advised by the desk clerk that they only had 1 & he didn't know where it was--he would leave it outside my room--if he could find it. I will be advising Priceline that the property needs to be permanently removed from their website to preserve their reputation. No one should be led to think that the Days Inn on Adobe Falls rd,--if any of their properties--is a good or safe...
Read moreThis review is for the hotel stay starting August 19th 2024 beginning at 4:00 PM. When I walked inside the hotel there were three female employees sitting behind the desk. Starting from left to right there was a Hispanic lady on the left, in the middle there was an African American female, and on the right there was a Hispanic female employee with glasses. This view is when you first walk in the door of the Days Inn hotel. The female employee on the left checked me in at 4:00 PM on August 19th 2024. Unfortunately, my room was not to my liking due to it being by the elevator and stairway. I returned to the front desk the same employees were sitting at the desk. When I walked in, I expressed that I did not prefer that room. The African American female sitting in the middle stated she will take a look (very professional). The Hispanic female employee sitting on the right, KARYME wearing dark frame glasses, immediately states “well you reserved for a king bed and we only have double beds” I stated “you can just move me to a queen bed if that's all is available” she immediately looks at me with a mean demeanor and states “EXCUSE ME” I stated “what is the problem” she states “you don't need to be so sarcastic, i'm only trying to help you” I stated “what are you talking about I only stated just moved me to a double room if that's what's available in the main building” she was clearly not happy that I asked to move to another room. She was very annoyed her entire expression on her face and her nonverbal body language. For the second time, after I stated “is there a problem” she stated for the second time accusing me of being sarcastic and not nice. Her exact statement was again for the second time “you don't need to be sarcastic and be a lot nicer”. I rarely write reviews. But as a person on official business with the government I want Days Inn to really take note in this situation as you have employees going back and forth with paying guest. You have employees insulting paying guest. You have employees that accuse guest without even understanding the situation. If you want outstanding customer service then those employees do not need to work at the front desk assisting guest and assisting guess for their first time visit within San Diego. KARYME did not even know me but the first impression was to insult me. Unfortunately, I must give you guys A1 star because the first impression was really bad. There was no service recovery to apologize to a guest. The employee KARYME judged my character as a person just trying to check in for one night. Unprofessional and...
Read moreMy friend stayed here for the weekend and I decided to join for one night. He had his own room on the 3rd floor. When I got there we asked if we can can get a room close to his but they said they did not have anything available on the 3rd floor. I said no worries, I will take anything and they offered room 209! They said that is the ONLY room available.
WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The moment I walked in the smell of humid and musk was unbearable! After driving hours to get there I really did not have it in me to go argue with the front desk, I just left the door open for a while to see if that helps. They had put so much air freshener in the air that it mixed with the moisture that I could not breathe. These rooms need Air circulation not air freshener!!! I sat outside for a while, left the door open hoping it would help!
hen I tried to take a nap before dinner and the noise from people outside in the balcony would not let me sleep... I went to take a shower and the faucet was not working. Took me 10 minutes to finally open the water.. it was either hot or cold... you touch the faucet and it would stop!!!
I got out of shower and there waster all over the floor in the So called kitchen area, from the fridge... I tried to dry it with a towel..and the room smelled musky all over again!
I was planning to stay for couple nights but for almost $200 a night that I was spending on this shit hole, i got us a very nice Airbnb. I left at 7AM even though the check out was at 12 because I did not get a minute of sleep from the noise, the smell in the room.. Did not even want to complain to the front desk as they were amazingly careless as I checked in the day before, why would I argue... it already ruined my night and in the best case scenario they would apologize (highly doubt that but I am trying to be optimistic)
PS. my friends room on the 3rd floor was much better! I am a fair person, let's just say the sheets and towel were clean but everything else was a disaster. This is why people try to get Airbnb and not deal with hotels anymore...you gotta know it takes a lot for us people to plan a small trip, do all these expense and then at end ...
Left 7AM, sat in coffeeshop until 2PM until I checked in my airbnb.. I am paying $50 less and it already is so much better than that room!
I hope the management read this, take action and do something. As I am not a vicious person, just trying to prevent his to happen to...
