Ron was our driver for our San Diego Brewery Tour. This is the second time I have used Sidecar Tours. Due to the great time we had at the Temecula Winery Tour, we decided to try the brewery tour this time. Our tour was set for 2pm. Ron made sure to introduce himself in a text message the morning of our tour and sent the details of the meeting time and location. I actually parked about a block away, and he called me and told me no problem, stay where you are, and I will come get you. The ride was amazing. We learned a lot of cool things and history that we did not know about San Diego, thanks to our driver. Ron took us past the USS Midway and told us some history on it. We also rode past the Star of India, which he said is one of the biggest functional sailboats around. We visited 2 breweries, Ballast Point and Stone Brewing. Also drove past Little Italy, Old Town San Diego, and Balboa Park. Ron made sure to take several pictures for us during several stops. He messaged us the pictures the next day. Overall, we love Sidecar Tours and can't wait for our next trip. We got plenty of thumbs up and stares during the ride. I would highly...
Read moreNot a bad experience overall (my driver was wonderful), but felt truly disingenuous in their advertising. I purchased this experience through Groupon, however when my Groupon code didn't work I had to speak with an agent directly to schedule my tour. While scheduling I was given a general rundown of the experience, and was told to expect three stops. As I found out mid tour the day of, when you purchase through Groupon they shorten the tour to two stops. (Had I known that the tour was 30% cheaper through Groupon because they cut off 30% of the tour, I would have simply paid full price and booked through their website directly). Additionally, towards the end of my tour I was given the option of "one more scenic stop or heading to the final wine destination". I opted for the final wine destination only to learn that the final destination was in fact the hotel bar of the pick up point. Had I known I would simply be dropped off where I started, I would have opted for the final scenic stop. The tour ended about 45 minutes earlier than advertised...
Read moreI had booked a brewery tasting tour with Sidecar Tour San Diego for my vacation, and it was supposed to happen today. Late last night, I received an email saying the weather would be "too cold" and drivers weren’t available, asking me to reschedule. However, the weather today is perfectly fine, so they clearly lied.
Since I’m here on vacation and leaving soon, rescheduling wasn’t an option. I tried multiple times to contact them—both by phone and email—to work out a solution or request a refund, but the phone doesn’t even ring, and I’ve gotten no response to my email. This lack of communication is completely unacceptable for a business offering tours to travelers.
I understand that unforeseen circumstances can happen, but being dishonest and ignoring customers is unprofessional. I’m left without the experience I paid for and no clear path to a refund. I wouldn’t recommend booking with Sidecar Tour San Diego unless you’re okay with being lied to and ghosted in a...
