My friends and I love coming to Daiso but I gotta say this last trip was a little odd. I was looking at the makeup when this guy walked in with a girl and made a fuss about not being able to bring in a drink. The cashier was incredibly professional and so sweet! You can tell she was just trying to do her job (as they literally have signs on the door saying no outside food or drink). The guy was being impossible and so rude, like the poor girl is just doing her job! He even used profanity which was just so disrespectful and ignorant. I don’t understand how people can be rude to workers simply doing their job. The cashier was polite, never raised her voice and looked so confused at his reaction (as did everyone else in the store). For some reason the ‘man’ went in and out of the store like two or three times and every time he was just even more nasty to her. All I have to say is, this store has some of the nicest, patient and polite workers I’ve ever encountered and I really hope the manager supports their workers and made sure she was okay because that behavior is not okay! I also find it funny how it actually seems like that ‘man’ left a review on here as well. It’s a bit ironic saying a worker was rude to you when you seem to not know how to read, have manners, and be a decent human being. I also don’t understand how anyone felt ‘unsafe’ when you were the one shouting profanities at a young woman. Hope people do better and I hope that cashier is okay because she...
Read moreA. Don't trust google reviews. They try to force you to answer weird questions and make it hard to actually leave a review.
B. I used to be obsessed! With this place all the Japanese home goods, arts and crafts school supplies, stickers, they have everything and it used to be very reasonably priced. So it wasn't a big deal if you got something you wound up not using.
But now all the prices have gone up. I used to always go in and at least grab some notebooks and pens, now the prices have gone up so much its not necessarily a frivolous purchase anymore. Maybe its just my perception but if I get a small basket full of stuff it will be $50-$100 for a bunch of little things I don't actually need.
If you've never been you should go, its amazing and you'll enjoy it but now that the prices have gone up I just find my self leaving without...
Read moreWhat a great store! As much as I like to buy domestic products, it's hard to pass up the really unique products available at Daiso. Everything is from Japan or China. It's all mass-produced-plasticy stuff, so don't expect to buy long-lasting items, but with prices that range from $1 to $5, you'd be silly to pass up things like micro-fiber floor cleaning slippers, individual banana keepers, scalp massagers for the shower, and a huge variety of Asian snacks. It's worth a visit, if not just to see how bright white the store is with modern LED lighting, and to listen to the Japanese pop music playing through the overhead speakers. All fun and kidding aside, the next time you need to make a quick Walmart, Dollar Store, or Party City run, choose Daiso instead and mix things up for once! 人生は短すぎる (Life...
