Although we had a few hiccups, I'm giving SD Adventures a 5 Star Review. This is a long review. Still with me? Read on. -This place is conveniently located seconds away from the Marina Tower at the Sheraton Hotel. They have 21 jet skis in stock, with extremely reasonable pricing and a very easy online reservation system. Huge plus to not have to leave the hotel. -We booked a 75-minute jet ski rental. Upon arriving, Devin and Marquis thoroughly explained expectations, equipment functionality, had us watch a brief but extremely thorough safety video, tested us with three questions to make sure we were listening, and answered questions. They got us up and running and on our way! We felt extremely confident. -Unfortunately, just after getting out of the "No Wake" zone, we immediately had debris clogged in the jet ski. I jumped in the water with my daughter and we both tried to unclog the metal screen. Unfortunately, nothing was there. My heart sank as my daughter was extremely excited to ride one for the first time. I called Devin, and he spent about 15 minutes talking us through what to do. Thankfully the last bit of troubleshooting got us up and running. He then offered to generously extend our time due to the setback and we were on our way. -Unfortunately, again, after 5 minutes of one long run of going 45mph, the jet ski clogged. I once again jumped into the San Diego Bay and attempted to clear the debris, but I was unsuccessful. I called Devin and he offered to tow us if we were uncomfortable, but he gave the approval to coast in at 4mph, back to the marina as we were enjoying the sunshine and views. -Upon arriving back at the rental dock, Devin offered another jet ski. We declined as we felt the universe was telling us that today wasn't our day, so we elected to spend the rest of the day at the pool. He set us up for another reservation for the next day at no charge, and I upgraded our time from 75 minutes to 120 minutes to try to make it up to my daughter. -The 2nd day went much smoother. We hit 53mph and were able to run all over the bay (with time to spare). We saw San Diego in a completely different way and thoroughly enjoyed it. When writing reviews, it's important to factor in what is your fault and what is the companies fault. In this case, it was neither. The Jet has just crashed into the Bay one week prior, and it was believed by locals that a boat had sank. It was widespread conversation that this was the most trash they had all seen in the Bay. I would not worry about this being a permanent problem, but I would ensure if you were going to rent that you communicate any issues immediately with Devin and his team, as well as keep the throttle on to go a minimum of 15mph to ensure the best chances of not getting debris stuck. In our case, once Devin got the Jet Ski high up, a micro piece of plastic that had been stuck, finally shot out like a bullet. My daughter just did a report at school today (her first full day back from vacation) about the challenges we had, how we overcame the obstacles, and how she hopes we'll do it again soon. I've never heard her scream with such delight while jumping the waves and speeding down the Bay towards Mexico! Five stars to Devin and his team. If you rent from them, please tip!!

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time renting the 9-passenger speed boat. Check in was a bit chaotic as there was only one person processing new reservations, scheduled reservations and returns. But we got there at the recommended 20 minutes before, they had all my information that I had filled out online so once we got to the front of the line we were on our way before our scheduled 5 pm rental time. Cruising along the San Diego coast was nice. They provided a Bluetooth speaker so our teens could play music. The unrestricted area of the bay isn’t so large so a 90-minute cruise would have been plenty, but it was also nice to have the extra half hour to just relax on the boat. The boat itself was clean and was easy to operate. We were the last booking of the day so return of the boat was easy. They validated our parking which brought the Sheraton hotel parking to $12. I believe others have said there is cheaper parking nearby, but SD Adventure is right outside the Sheraton lobby so parking there is a breeze. Also used the weekday discount offer which made their rental a great deal. Staff was friendly so our experience was very good and I recommend this company.

Gavin was really awesome. I had an issue with redeeming my Groupon and within minutes he was able to get me booked through Facebook Messanger even though their offices where closed. When I arrived early for my appointment he even let me start early so I didn't have to wait 30 minutes until my set appointment. He showed me where I could go and explained all the features of the jetski. I also appreciate he provided me with a complimentary waterproof phone holder to prevent it from getting corrosive salt water damage. The equipment was great and could really handle any waves or wake thrown at it. I also appreciate that they give you an extra 15min on top of the 60min as getting out of the no wake zone does take several minutes. Having tried other jet ski rentals in the San Diego area I think this will be my go to one whenever I come back down here. Riding down the San Diego harbour provides great views of Navy & Cargo Ships as well as the glistening buildings of downtown San Diego. Something you wouldn't get in Mission Bay. Thanks for the great customer service and the awesome experience!

We rented 2 jet skis for 2 hours. It was a great time. John was very nice. Water was extremely rough out in the bay. Don’t let the marina fool you. 100% rent the wet suits. Do NOT swear your regular clothes, you’re going to get soaked no matter what. Overall good experience. They were offering 25% off so I went with them.

Now the negative: We showed up 45 minutes early to our 11:15am start time to ensure we would get out in time and back by 1:15pm because we had other plans that started shortly after that. John was very busy and made us wait around. We were ready to go before 11. Then there was 2 guys who were going out at the same time as us that showed up at 11. John made us wait for them because he wanted to launch us all at the same time. They were only going out for 75 minutes. We didn’t launch until 11:45am by the time John went through all the safety briefing and further information with them(a second time with us). He did say we didn’t have to be back until 1:45. However, we had plans for the next event and still had to come back at 1:15. We still had to pay the full 2 hours. All the correspondence you receive make it very known to show up on time or you will not get your time back. But when they aren’t timely, it’s okay? I didn’t like that.

2nd: the 2 guys who showed up after us did not rent wet suits. There had all of the clothes they showed up in still on, including there shoes. It must have been there first time on a jet ski. John has been doing this a long time. He knew they were going to get absolutely soaked. However, he chose not to warn them. This is the first time I rode a jet ski on the ocean, I didn’t even realize how wet and cold it would be. We almost didn’t get the wet suits either. So because he won’t tell you, do NOT wear the clothes that you show up in!!!!!

Parking was $12 at the hotel with the voucher you receive.

Hope...

I recently had the unfortunate experience of renting a jet ski from this company, and I must say that it was a complete disaster. I highly advise anyone considering their services to think twice before proceeding. Here are the reasons why this establishment deserves a one-star rating: First and foremost, they conveniently failed to mention a hidden charge that was only revealed to me at the time of payment. It's highly deceptive and unacceptable to keep customers in the dark about additional charges. Secondly, the staff exhibited a horrendous attitude throughout my interaction with them. They pointed fingers to my face and acting like they are superior. All they want is money. They were unhelpful, rude, and completely unprofessional. Their lack of basic customer service skills left a sour taste in my mouth. Furthermore, one of their employees was totally a narcissist racist. I believe it’s their main guy because he’s on the training video. He treated us very rude as we are minorities skin color. It is utterly unacceptable to discriminate against individuals based on their race or ethnicity. This behavior is not only offensive but also completely illegal. To make matters worse, this company shamelessly plays tricks to rob your hard-earned money. They use “speeding tickets” to fine you a lot of money by acting condescending. Their business practices are deceitful and designed to exploit unsuspecting customers. They clearly prioritize profit over integrity. Lastly, and most shockingly, this company stole my credit card information. I discovered unauthorized charges on my statement shortly after renting from them. This is a severe breach of trust and a criminal act. Overall, my experience with this jet ski rental company was an absolute nightmare. I strongly caution others to steer clear of their services to avoid the distress and financial...
