Historic, recently renovated and re-opened upscale shopping center that was once San Diego Police Department's HQs.

Beautiful Art Deco architecture was, not too long ago, an empty, boarded up property. It does have a parking lot but just a couple of blocks distance from there you have a SD Trolley Green Line station.

Nice outdoor seating eateries and within a 15-20 minute walk to Gaslamp District, Embarcadero and next door to Seaport Village.

The developers actually set aside a part of the building to show visitors what it looked like when it served as SD's PD Central. You have a museum type of exhibit offering up close display of short term jail cells, old mug shots and original law enforcement equipment.

Plenty of pedicabs waiting around to transport downtown guests wherever...

Ate tacos at Puerto. Kind of a tradition for our family. They were very good. They were very inventive. They were presented attractively. The headquarters is a interesting building. Its amazingly landscaped in drout tolerant landscaping. It's a great example of how local plants can make an colorful interesting entry to a building. Cheesecake Factory has a large patio in front. There is a new sushi bowl place. I hope it does well. The two stores I liked to walk through are sadly gone. They sold art, mostly photos. The work was great. Covid has hurt so many people. So many still are without jobs. We are need retail to return, not for our entertainment, but for the jobs. When we can we all need...

This is small center within walking distance of Seaport village that is home to a few stores and restaurants. It does boast some comfortable seating in the square with large umbrellas to shield you from the sun. I have to admit that my favorite part was the amazing bathroom they there. There's a coin box on the outside, as a joke, and yes, this is one of the nicest public bathrooms I have seen. I doubt I would have checked it out had it not been for the City Lights Tour we took the night before. It was on this tour we told about the history of the original jail located in The Headquarters at Seaport. This is on your path...

we came for the salsa dancing Under the Stars and in spite of the bad weather there was still plenty of people dancing to the live music out in the patio. This reminds me of visiting the centro in some small Mexican towns with the beautiful Fountain and all the places to sit surrounded by little shops. Although the place was too busy to provide us drinks we did, after strolling around, have a gelato

Basically, this building served as a jail for the arrested enemy's army or civilian persons during WW-II ( 1939- onwards).Later on, this was commercialised to rent out for a number of restaurants or shops, such as Cheese factory, Puesto, Starbucks, etc. Cells and police exhibits area is currently closed for the public. A strategic location from tourists point of view.
