Wish I can give zero stars to this place.
Don’t be fooled by the glitterati of this place the fire pits, the big open outdoor space & all. It’s all just an eyewash. This place SUCKS like BIG time.
After reading rave reviews of this place, we decided to give it a try. One hour waiting and then we finally get a patio seat. All going good, we decided to order the food and the drinks. The server was nice initially while taking the orders and then she vanished.
She comes back after a long time with chips and salsa. We were given no warning at all that it was a fiery salsa. The heat of the salsa had us all sweating. The server then realizes and says oh sorry we ran out of the mild one so we just gave you the extra hot one (no warning before) and without even checking with us whether we like extra hot salsa or not.
The FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. It was so so disgusting that some of us couldn’t even finish it.
Chicken mole enchiladas were pathetic. Tasteless, flavorless.
How can a Mexican restaurant mess up tacos. They were so so bad. Barely any meat or flavor. Served cold with some random veggies.
The drinks were also watered down.
The server was nowhere to be seen after giving us the dishes, as if she was trying to hide away because she probably she knew that the food of this restaurant sucks.
When she came to collect the check, that’s the only time she asked us how was the food. I told her that it was disgusting. To my surprise she says oh but the service was OK, right 🤦🏻♀️. She only cared about her tip. She did not even apologize or went to talk to the Chef or the manager nothing at all. She only cared about her bloody tip.
This place is just a tourist trap. People probably just come here for the shiny outdoor seating and Instagram worthy pictures. FOOD SUCKS. Save your bucks and go somewhere...
Read moreCame here twice because I didn't really have time to have a proper meal the first time. The food and the service was pretty good overall.
That first time, I realized I had to head back to the Hyatt for a meeting sooner than I expected, so I only had time to get something small and quick. My server was amazing and first brought me their plant-based menu when I told her I was vegan. I ordered a mushroom taco, which was delicious (I mean, mushrooms are amazing!), and my server brought me my check right after she brought me my food so that I wouldn't have to wait for her to bring it when I was done.
Then the second time was a few days later when I had time for a proper dinner. It was a Saturday night so it was very crowded and busy, but they had space at the bar and counter, so I opted for the counter. A little cramped, but wasn't too big a deal. Service was a lot slower then, and while my order was taken fairly promptly and my food came out quickly, the people sitting across from me seemed to have been waiting a long time for their food.
But perhaps it was my own fault for being a cautious vegan, because when my server told me that the fried quinoa that would normally go on the Mercado Salad was fried in the same fryer as their meat items, I opted to skip the fried quinoa as well as the cheese for my salad, and my salad ended up being rather unsatisfying. It was tasty, but not at all filling. There were chickpeas and avocado in the salad, but I think I counted all of 10 chickpeas, and maybe the same number of little pieces of avocado.
So in all, good food, pretty good service, but perhaps not the most satisfying if...
Read moreI was very excited to check out Puesto as I've heard great things from friends, but was pretty disappointed with my experience here.
The food and drinks were nothing to write home about. My table started with the guacamole, which was actually pretty tasty- it had just the right amount of salt and lime juice, and paired well with the crispy fresh tortilla chips. I chose the three tacos for $17, although some of the tacos have an up-charge, so it came out to $20, which is quite expensive for just three tacos. The three that I chose were: taco of the month, filet mignon, and tuna. The taco of the month was not good at all. The shredded chicken was mushy and tasted way too smoky. If there were any other flavors within that taco, they were indistinguishable as the smokiness muddled over everything. The filet mignon was average- the meat was a little dry and chewy, but it was edible. I also liked that the soft shell of this taco was not soggy because all the components were encased, unlike the other two tacos which left the bottom of the shell extremely soggy. The tuna was, by far, my favorite of the three.
The drinks were also mediocre. My friend ordered the spicy margarita, which tasted identical to a classic margarita. The La Rosita cocktail was also much too sweet, even for a sweet tooth like myself. It was like drinking one part water to one part sugar. There was also a mishap with my waitress who temporarily lost my credit card; fortunately, someone had noticed my card on the stairway and returned it.
The ambiance is warm and inviting, but I probably...
