1 Star – Completely Useless and Disorganized

I don’t know how uBreakiFix Del Mar stays in business with how comically incompetent their customer service is.

I went in for a simple repair, but they didn’t have the part in stock. Fine. They asked me to come back another time – but never even took my phone number. No name, no order, no way to follow up. Just a vague “check back later.” So a week later, I call to check in… they still don’t have the part, and once again, they refuse to take down my number.

How are they supposed to contact me if they ever do get the part? Carrier pigeon?

I even offered to find the part myself and just pay them to install it – nope, “store policy.” Apparently they’d rather let you walk out than lift a finger to help you solve your problem.

I’ve since found another repair shop nearby that not only had the part in stock but offered better prices and way better service. They actually wanted my business. What a concept.

This repair location is awesome! I arrived 30 minutes before the Del Mar location was due to close for the evening, to have my cracked iPhone screen replaced. After a quick review of my phones condition, the Tech quoted a repair time of 20 minutes and a repair price that I could not refuse. I was astonished with the competitive repair cost along with the quoted repair time. With out hesitation, I handed over my iPhone. My screen was badly cracked and would not allow and visual review of any incoming or outgoing calls. Within shorter time than was quoted, I was in and out with my phone in hand. Sayed, was the tech that help me this evening. His demeanor was super friendly, his customer service skills were top notch and his expedient service and professionalism was priceless. I visited the store because my phone's screen suddenly stopped displaying. I paid $280 for a screen replacement. After returning home, I noticed that the front (selfie) camera wouldn't focus properly and appeared blurry. This issue was not present before the screen replacement.

I revisited the store to address the issue. A bearded man there initially claimed that the blurry camera was due to water droplets or something similar preventing the focus. When I asked why they didn’t dry or inspect the phone during the repair, he suddenly changed his explanation, saying the problem might be due to water damage or corrosion.

I explained that my phone has never been exposed to water, and it is a relatively new model, only about nine months old. The man spoke very assertively, and I got the impression he had no intention of resolving the issue. I left the store feeling frustrated.
