The skate rentals feel grimy, smell musty and the blades are dull. As soon as I got in the rink my skates fell inward. We had to exchange our skates a couple of times because of the laces breaking and the skates being in very poor condition. We only stayed because they don't offer refunds but had we seen the condition of the skate rentals we would have not paid over over $150 for our family to skate. Also, we were told that the skates are NOT sanitized after each use they are only disinfected at the end of the day after countless number of people have used them. They also don't seem to be dry when you put them on, my socks were damp the moment I slid my foot in each skate. Keep in mind Children pay the same price as adults but also have to pay a premium price to rent a seal for $15. On top of that we waited 45min to get the seal which at that point all our feet hurt to be able to really make use of the seal. I also agree with another reviewer who said it is crowded and the ice is wet. I saw small puddles of water forming in some areas. I remember going to this rink years ago and it seemed so much...
Read moreMy daughter fell and had a head concussion during one of the lessons, there were about 20 kids with one teacher. My daughter was lying on the ice holding her head for some time and the teacher didn't even noticed it. No one cared to help me finding ice even though my daughter hit her head badly and her eye was getting swollen. I had to keep begging for ice till finally someone showed up with it. I asked one of the girls from the office where should I report the incident, she said: "send a message to the email that is on our website" then completelly ignored what was happening to us. They don't have a plan for emergencies, your kids are at their own risk. I sent a message to utc ice and they didn't respond. Negligent, irresponsible and with a total lack of consideration. They just care about charging...
Read moreThanks for the ice in the someone and year round! My daughter's are able to get me out a few times in a row, and we had so much fun. Baby twisted her ankle a bit but had to much fun to show her pain and kept wanting to go around. My feet still need to get used to it, but she really loved the ice and I think she saw me having fun. Maybe she didn't want it to end. The pain took us home, but she's almost ready for her next trip as ski trips and sports subside or sooner if she will! See you there! Thank you for the ice and wonderful help and supervision! Love you so much La Jolla!!! UTC is where I sold 2 homes and helped the buyer with a good course home! Wow! I love UTC excuse me!
