Pretty good, nice but not as nice as AMC Metreon. I went here on opening night (5/25/21) after hearing they were offering $3 movies as a welcoming price. Turns out they decided not to do that, so I ended up paying full price ($16) for the RPX screen (#12). I paid at the touchscreen kiosk, but it was buggy and couldn't print my ticket/receipt desipte charging my card! Had to wait 10 minutes for the manager to pretend to know what he was doing just for him to eventually tell me just to walk in without a ticket. Sure enough I walked past the ticket checker, no questions asked. (I kinda expected a warmer welcome for opening night, but I guess that's a nitpick) For the actual theatre quality: I went to the top "RPX" auditorium, and it was quite good but not better than AMC Dolby or most IMAX (of course nowhere close to Metreon IMAX). RPX SCREEN: 1.85 aspect ratio, minimal curve, and about 56 feet wide (about the same size as most IMAX screens). Single laser projector, great colors/contrast/brightness/blacks but not as great as dual laser IMAX/Dolby. Seemed to be 4k but I'm not 100% positive. SOUND: It had 14 speakers in the ceiling which was nice bonus, but no Dolby branding that I could see. No bass shakers in the seats :(, and bass/volume overall was a bit under what I expected for RPX. SEATS: honestly disappointing. For a brand new, top-of-the-line auditorium, I expected proper leather recliners like most of the other theatres in the Bay. It seems the non-premium screens have recliners, but the RPX auditorium had regular seats that only leaned back a bit. Absolute back of the theatre (L13) is dead center horizontally and vertically. (Attached photo is from me standing up at L13.) If you sit closer than D you're not going to have a good time. It is stadium seating, but it's not sloped enough, so (post covid) if someone tall sits directly in front of you, they might partially obstruct the screen. Manager said all the screens here have laser projectors. Parking is excellent for the city, much better than Metreon. Free parking and there were mall security visible at night, felt safe leaving around midnight. Convenient location with a Trader Joe's too! Located on the second floor of the mall. Also I noticed that the RPX seat map on Fandango did not match the Regal website/actual auditorium. Update: I also have been to the 4DX here and it's just okay, I probably wouldn't go again. I appreciated the moving seats and the wind effects, but there was way too much smoke. By the final action scene of the movie, I literally could not see the screen at all, was 100% obscured by smoke for several minutes. 4DX screen was smaller than I would expect for a premium ticket price. Was only ~32 feet wide, which is straight average for regular auditoriums. It also wasn't loud enough, especially since all of the 4DX effects are noisy.

I've been here a few times to buy merch for the release of Lilo and Stitch.  The experience at the concession stand has been meh at best.  I had purchased a large stitch popcorn bucket.   I asked him if he could put it in a different container.  He gives me a small box, not even a small bag full of popcorn.  I didn't want to argue, so I let it go.  Customer service was bare minimal each time I've gone here.  I thought maybe it was because I was there to buy merch, but it was the same thing on my last visit. I went here and watched Mission Impossible the Final Reckoning with my dad.   We watched it in Screen X.  We checked in, and I took my dad to where our seats were.  I then went back to the concession stand. I had ordered a combo that had large popcorn and large drinks.  I also ordered nachos.  I wish I had taken pictures, but the nachos came in what could've passed for a hot dog container that was open.  Both sides had chips and nacho cheese sauce on top.  It was awkward to hold.  I asked the guy if they had a container to help me hold it all together.   He hands me the same style box just a little bigger 🤦‍♀️.  For me to carry all 3 items was a pain. Watching in Screen X was a cool, different experience.  I know the movie theater was new, but you could definitely tell, looking around.  The seats were nice and comfy.  The restrooms were clean. I just feel like customer service is something they should focus on at the concession stand.  Provide a carrier/tray for movie goers.  We are paying customers, and you do want us to buy in the concession stand?  Make it easier for us and give customers some sort of incentive to want to buy more items, not the opposite.  I'm sure providing those trays or even a decent co tainer for nachos wouldn't break the bank.  Employees working there look like they are miserable or just busy talking amongst themselves.  This would just make me not want to go here.   They are one of the main people we really deal with when going to the movies.  People who check tickets, you barely even talk to them.

September, 2021. I was surprised 😮 that in the RPX theater 🎥, the recliner seats 💺 were not full reclining or stadium seats. The arm rests are still shared with the seats next to you. The prepared foods are smaller than some other theater chains, which was fine. The RPX theater volume was loud! Bring cotton balls. Theater 5 has recliner seats & food trays attached to the seats. February 3, 2022: Theater 4 has full reclining seats 💺 & moveable food trays, like theater 5. Again, I was all alone in the theater 🎥. I loved it. No floating in the air 🦠🦠🦠🦠 😷. The staff are very nice. 4/4/23: The staff were professional & courteous. Theater 🎥 5 had reclining stadium 🏟 seats 💺. 6/20/23: Theater 🎥 #12, next to the men's room, did not have recycling seats, & the sound was very loud. 10/23: Theater 1 has the seats 💺 that violently move in all directions. There's puffs of air, smoke, & moisture that surround you at times. I did not like it at all, & it costs more $ to sit in that theater room. 1/23/24: the new pizzas 🍕 are huge! A much better bargain.

Best movie theater in San Francisco so far. Even though I give it five star theirs something I don't like, but still overall is the best. The rewards program is not that good. You aren't missing out on much. You pretty much just get free popcorn and soda. I wish they had like exclusive things to get. I have 120k points that will expire soon cause I can't use them all. The app on android only gives you the option of buying adults' tickets. It's best to use the website to buy tickets if you have kids. Screen X is not worth it unless you sit in the middle right behind disability chairs or in front of them. If you sit on the sides or all the way In the back, it's a complete waste of time and money. Learn this the hard way. The existing signs are always on, and that's where the side screen is making it a distraction. The two side screens look like you are watching the movie in like 360p and the middle at 4k very weird. The side screens are dimmer and blurry, so unless you sit in the front middle where the side screen is in your side vision, it's not worth it. If you plan on going, this is what I recommend 4DX all the way. Best way to experience the movie with the moving chairs. Get their early and eat before the movie starts, or you will have popcorn flying. It's only available on opening week, sadly, so get tickets in advance. RPX looks amazing, and the screen is the biggest. My second opinion, if I missed 4DX. STANDARD with recliner seat is the most comfortable one so far. I just don't like the screens are pretty small. STANDARD this will be my options if everything else is booked. Pretty much a normal looking movie theater. SCREEN X I put this last cause unless you get the right seat, it's not worth it, and the video quality of the side screen is not the best. It has potential, but I think this idea needs to be remade. I have to say overall cleanest theater I ever seen very updated no matter the theater you get. Also staff is very friendly I have never had seen a rude employee ever. Just...
