We came to see The Hu on December 1. Only encountered a couple of issues. Parking is virtually non-existent; no lots or garages nearby. Finally found a spot several blocks away. I had called ahead to reserve Disabled seating, as the person coming with me recently had surgery (this is a standing-only venue). Found out when we arrived that his name hadn't been added to the list. However, the staff quickly acted to resolve that issue. We didn't see a drink server until almost the end of the show, but once she did arrive, she was very friendly and efficient. Luckily, getting back and forth to the bar wasn't difficult. Speaking of the bar, drinks are a bit pricey, but not watered down. It's a small venue and very open, so there's a great view of the stage from wherever you are. I was pleasantly surprised at the Disabled seating; we were expecting to have a chair set up somewhere, but we were shown to a very nice elevated seating area. The only issue we had was with people sitting on the wall, or coming into the area and blocking my friend's view. But Security did a good job of addressing that problem as much as possible. I have to say that the staff are so very friendly and helpful. Very, very nice bunch of people; probably the most pleasant I've ever encountered at any entertainment venue. Very attentive to my friend's needs, and very patient with people who were drunk or otherwise causing problems. I would definitely come here again, and be sure to come early to...
Read moreAlways a good time seeing a show here. Staff was amazing with water when we needed it.
Only two things could be better: having more fans/ventilation (when it's a packed house, even with the AC blasting, it gets quite warm) and more seating options for people who need it.
That being said the sound quality was amazing, the artists seemed impressed with the professionalism of the staff, getting in the door was quick and easy (they scan tickets and give a bracelet if you want to drink with proof of ID).
While I wish the artist I saw had chosen a bigger venue I understand that they liked the intimacy of this small one. I was lucky to be able to buy tickets last minute online as the show did sell out.
They use ticketweb not ticket master but on $60 of tickets I paid almost $15 in fees so it wasn't that much better of an option IMHO.
Plan to get here 20-35 minutes earlier than you'd expect just to circle the block for a while to find parking and to then walk the 2-10 blocks from your car. If you can Bart/muni or Uber/Lyft those are great options, but there's no safe pick up area for Uber/Lyft - the streets are just too crowded.
Local food options are amazing. There's a dispensary almost across the street for those...
Read moreChanged their “covid policy” a week before the the event I bought tickets for. Originally their website stated you needed either proof of vaccination or a negative covid test 48 hours in advance. When you call them currently, there is also an automated response that says the same thing. When I spoke to a live person, they said you have to be vaccinated and it’s been known for a while and that I wouldn’t be able to get a refund. I told the person I spoke to that is not what it said when I purchased the tickets originally over two months ago. He tried to tell me I was wrong and nothing could be done. Now I am out a couple hundred bucks, because of their misinformation. I understand if they only want the “vaxed” allowed in their venue (it is San Francisco after all), but to not offer me a refund is ridiculous. Even after I get vaccinated, I will be avoiding this venue. Terrible customer service.
Update: I ended up not getting vaccinated (thankfully) and this place is...
