so I have really enjoyed this place I bought comics and for the last 2 years I have gone I would sometimes bring in dc mcfarlane collectibles to sell. I always buy things I know that will be worth a little upfront and down the line. The people I was greeted with were always nice and also would take time for the customers never felt rushed, I would bring in dc mcfarlane figure and would get money for them would be around 40-60 bucks depending what and how much I brought in. I called in Saturday because it was my grandma's 90th and was looking for some extra cash the guy who was on his lunch picked up all annoyed saying I wouldn't get much for them and said when you get here I will come out and take a look. I went there a lady at the front desk greeted me I explained to her I looked up one of them which was the Knight fall batman blue and grey suit which was now more of a rare buys due to it not being sold in stores or Amazon unless for the price of 40 bucks now vs 25 retail price it once was. I had the black and grey version as well and also a mega figure nekron which online is 39-40 bucks so in total I had figures worth around 105 dollars but knowing there's fees for taking the figures I figured the price would be around 60-80 bucks so when the women sat there didn't look anything up and made a price of 5 dollars from her head I am not saying she was rude but the fact there was no effort put into the exchange and also no customer service I walked out. The dude on his lunch greeting me with we only get paid 18 and that's a lot of work to look up that stuff and he would have even offered less and said they are more like a warehouse and if some old person dies this is a great place for us to take their collection and give it for someone else to enjoy really just made me sit like you are a comic book store... you guys get collectibles, rare items and comics to call it a warehouse is insulting to your own brand plus i am sorry but its a hole in the wall comic book store if thats the wear house a cardboard box makes a good apartment. so that right there showed me you guys are less than what they were offering no customer service even if you guys said hey went can't give you much for them and we understand you have done business in the past here like but we have changed our policy would have understood but no just 5 bucks or 2 from the guy outside so i went to legends guy looked them up, sold them ,and made a good amount of money for it plus offered me business in the future if I pick up the 2 pack of batman vs bane from the knightfall comic. That's how you do business maybe you guys should learn from others before your so called "warehouse" turns into use to be a warehouse but went out of business. thanks and to the dude that made the 18 an hour comment if you don't like your job then don't...
Read moreThis place may be good for comics, but I tend to go there for trading cards. These cards are really over priced and it feels as if they only want to push their comic books. One time I called to ask if they carried a specific trading card product, and they asked me if I was local, and if I was in their database before they would answer my question. Then, I got an absurd price for the product! Also, I was in the store one day and asked how much a pack of 100 penny sleeves cost, and was quoted $10. For those unfamiliar, I can find a pack of 100 penny sleeves for 1-2$. Really?! They don’t care about the customers that are in there for cards. The funny thing is, if they did, they would make a lot more money. I have a feeling they make more money off of trading cards rather than their comics, even with their absurd prices, but I could be wrong. Oh well. Go somewhere else if you’re looking for trading cards. Edit: The card product I asked about was the Pokémon celebrations 25 year ultra premium collection. I was told it would cost me over $400, and I checked several other hobby shops that sold them for well under $400. Also, I was quoted $10 for those penny sleeves. You didn’t give me that quote, Bruce, but some lady working there did (not the older lady). If you think you couldn’t find penny sleeves for 1-2$ a month ago, go ahead and check. I guarantee that you could find a source at that price range. And no, I was not talking about top loaders. Btw, my incident regarding the penny sleeves was many months ago, not last month. So don’t present irrelevant information to fit your narrative and discredit...

Everything is priced well above market, even though they claim their pricing is based on TCGPlayer. For example, they had a Destined Rivals ETB priced at $130+ when the actual market value was around $86. I totally get that shops need to bump prices a bit to cover overhead, but charging $40+ over market feels purely profit-driven.
What’s disappointing is I actually wanted to support this place. I’ve been here before and even bought a Venom comic book collection. But the prices—and especially the customer service—just aren’t it.
During my visit, I spoke to one employee who was helpful, but there was another older gentleman who seemed like he was having a bad day. He was loudly complaining about work and just gave off a negative vibe. While browsing, I was interested in a Japanese Heat Wave booster box listed at $104 ($77 market price), a Grimsnarl EX full art single, and a Chopper One Piece single. The total came out to $123, so I politely asked if they’d be willing to do $120 cash.
They were hesitant and told me their “Pokémon guy” was on lunch. I said okay, and then asked if the total would be $123 flat since their price sheet had different cash/card pricing. That’s when the older gentleman raised his voice and snapped at me, saying:
“There’s tax on all things purchased in California. If you want to have less taxes, go drive 8 hours to Oregon!”
I was completely respectful during the conversation, so this response caught me totally off guard. That moment killed any interest I had in buying—or ever...
