I wish the reviews I’d read before booking were more honest. I ended up cancelling 4 hours after arriving at the property, and having to lose the cost of 2 nights just to get out, and scrambling to find another hotel for the night. The location itself has a funky smell, and is falling apart. Everything from the bedding to the towels is subpar. Initially I thought that was fine, for the low cost, but the icing on the cake was that the toilet didn’t flush. Staff was friendly trying to fix it but it just didn’t work and they couldn’t move me to any other room with functional plumbing. Their online policy only states one night fee for last minute cancellations (even including cancellation due to their own plumbing issues) but they actually charge for 2 nights- beware. Also, if you don’t know San Jose, this is an area prone to high cockroach infestations. They’re just there, not much can be done about them. I was really careful to keep my food/belongings sealed up so I didn’t get any hitchhikers. I come to San Jose a lot for work and will absolutely be avoiding this hotel. On the positive side, the location is good for walking downtown or to the local restaurants.

I gotta say I was extremely disappointed. I checked in to my room late after a long day at the airport and to my surprise the bathroom was not cleaned. There was a brown stain on the toilet lid and hair under the lid and on top of the toilet. I also later found a rag that had short black hairs on it hanging off the curtain rod when I went to shower. I think they completely missed cleaning my room. I also was annoyed because I booked a one king size bedroom and when I got there the man upfront said there was a mix up so I was gonna have to stay in a two queen bedroom. It’s not cool when you pay and can’t even relax because your room is filthy. I went to make coffee in the morning and the inside of the coffee pot was gross and clearly wasn’t cleaned for a while. I will say the man at the front desk did come and clean up for me but didn’t really do anything besides apologize and blame it on the new maid. It was weird to have someone in your room cleaning in the middle of the night. I would have to say the only thing good was the location.

Perfect no frills motel. Got a room with 2 beds for the weekend of the Fisher concert. Beds were clean and comfortable. The room has a fridge and a microwave. Our room was street facing so yeah we could hear the cars once traffic picked up but that was expected. The only bad thing about the room was the shower (pictured). The water pretty much went everywhere except straight, so it was a battle trying to angle the showerhead so it would hit my body. Everything else about the room is what you should expect. Location is pretty ideal if you enjoy walking. Lots of restaurants nearby, a whole foods and the Arena about 10-15 minutes walk. 25-30 minute walk to the bars on Santa Clara Street and around 1st.

If the rating system on this site could do a negative or a minus or a no stars this positive and happy reviewer would do minus 8. As a person who travels frequently I will tell you nothing makes me more mad than the classic bait-and-switch. The reservation itself for this hotel was less than $200, in their fine print on their website there is nothing about a exorbitant fee for a deposit. the deposit in fact they wanted it in cash not on your credit card they wanted to take $255 as a deposit. For one night on a room I was spending less than $200 for. Needless to say due to me pre-booking this and then again not specifying this on the telephone when I made the reservation. And keep in mind this was not and I repeat not in the fine print on their website. I have to wait I don't know how many days for my refund. my companion and i are not schlubs. We, pay our bills, even if you were a schlub the customer service and ill treatment & the deposit both erroneous outrageous and just plain bad business. The look the front desk person gave me when I told her I did not have $255 in cash on me she rolls her eyes and did the audible sigh. Looking at the type vehicle that I drove in with she was having a hard time believing in it. but even if I was a billionaire I still wouldn't pay $255 for a deposit on a place that was less than $200 or four any place for that matter. I have stayed at The Palace Hotel one of the finest hotels on the West Coast they didn't try to extort me for $255 $255 what a rip off the facilities themselves I didn't see the insides the outside looked like it was in desperate need of TLC and a brand new owner they oughta be ashamed of themselves. Do not go to this hotel that's all I have to say about that. For what it's...

I've been staying at the Flamingo Motel on and off for the past two and a half years, with 40-50 stays in that time frame, and it's one of my favorite places to stay in the area for the price and location.

This is a small mom and pop's type of motel, 20ish rooms, where the owners family runs the place. I've booked rooms through third party apps as well as directly with the motel, and always have been treated well. I've had dealings with the husband, wife and even their kids and it's always been fairly professional and pleasant. well.

The rooms, if I had to guess were remodeled about 5-7 years ago or so, and are fairly up to date with electrical outlets and USB type A plugs on the nightstands. Decent TV and a small fridge and microwave in the rooms. The wifi can be pretty decent with few random checks over the years and I've seen as high as 400+mbs and a low of 90mbs per second when it seemed that the place was full. I appreciate the fridge, microwave and wifi, as I usually bring food with me to heat up while I log in to work in the evenings.

I noticed that a reviewer(s) mentioned bugs. As I was not them, I can not confirm or deny what they saw. But in all of my stays, I've never seen anything in the motel and I've had food in the rooms for most of my stays.

As many have said there are many great places within walking distance, both food and entertainment.

This motel might not be for all, but to repeat, I've found my stays here for the most part pleasant...
