Best Buy Black Friday, November 24, 2023 was a first for me in San Luis Obispo with many customers, although I have shopped there many times, but never on Black Friday. It was a happy family reunion with B.B. Kyle, Kelly, Vanessa, A.J. who I have known for years, and also Steve, Sony Bravia Smart TV rep, was at the Sony demos that I went to see for a 2023 Sony Bravia XR 75 X90L. Steve talked about the many features to several customers also. Steve gave a lot of good info. I told a couple about a few features on my two 2021 Sony Bravia XR 55 X90J and 65 XR X95J. I would like to upgrade to the 75" in my living room where my 65" is on the wall.
Nov. 8, 2023, long time very experienced Geek Squad Erik Ochoa phoned Samsung tech to help him restore to brand new condition, my 12 year old 2011 UN55D8000YFXZA Samsung Smart TV-3D, Blu-ray, 240Hz, fixing greyed out Channel & Network functions. Alex Ruiz has been very helpful to learn my new Asus Chromebook. Unfortunately In Home support with Total Tech Membership is changing and will cost you more than just the member fee. There will be very few free benefits that will now cost you as discounts w membership. Alyssa Geek Squad set up a last hour in-store repair order to send my Sony HT-s200F soundbar out for repair or replacement, after two younger less experienced customer service employees could not help on July 16, 2022. Marcos advisor explained re tape on TV boxes, January 24, 2022, as I wondered about my Sony TV with not very tight tape on the box delivered to my door. Flaps are not glued, rather, taped shut. Very large TV boxes are strapped and taped. Neil in customer service made sure that my Best Buy $40 credit was applied to my October 9 in store purchase.
Kyle Anderson gave a very good In Home Consultation for doorbells with video/audio features, plus video storage. He was a pleasure to talk about it. My landlord needs to give permission to install it

Read moreOn my last visit to the San Luis Obispo BB, I had and pen tool on behalf of my boss for his iPad. I ordered and paid online in hopes of utilizing their Curbside pickup they advertise on their mobile. I choose to go to Bestbuy instead of the nearby Apple store because BB offered this service and I already had the app one my phone. I arrived at the store an hour later after they notified me that my item was available for pickup, and parked in a curbside designated parking space. I attempted to check in using the mobile app to notify the store I was there to pick up my item, but app repeatedly told me "Sorry" and could not procede further. I called listed phone number for the store and received a voice message that the store was not accepting calls - there was no one answering the phone. So I had no choice but go into the store even though I was trying use curbside pickup. When walked into the store, there two employees sitting at the welcome/exit boot just chatting. I told the welcome person that was there trying receive the item I had paid for via the curbside pickup they were advertising. But I was told I had to go stand in the Customer Service line receive my item. Turns out the customer service boot was handling customer returns and item pick ups. There was were multiple customers in this line. The line was moving very slowly because the other in line were there to process returns and there was only one employee there to process Customer Service, Returns, and PickUps. There were two other store employees there with no customers but were at the desk for Repairs. They were in no way assisting the one employee servicing multiple customers in the Customer Service that I was forced to stand in because the curbside pickup the store offers online was clearly not a service the was interested in actually providing. I ended up standing in line over 30 min to reach the counter and ask to receive my item which again, I had already paid for online. I complained about their mobile not working, to which the customer service employee simple responded "Sorry", he would look in to issue. Ultimately, I waste a full hour at the store trying to get someone to bring out my item and being forced to go into the store and stand in line for an item I paid for more than two hours earlier. The next item and Apple product for my company, I was order and using Apple's website. While was required to go into the rather small parking lot for the Apple store, and I had to go into the store, the first Apple store employee spoke to in store said they would retrieve my product and had in and out of on less than 5 minutes. I won't be going to Bestbuy again anytime. It may just have been that one store in San Luis Obispo, that was interested the curbside pickup service they offered online, as I have used curbside pick up lunch at other BestBuys in the past. Read moreReally frustrated with my last visit. I pre-ordered my Galaxy s9+ plus in store on tuesday. The man who helped me was friendly and the process was easy! I was told an email would be sent on Thursday to make an appointment time to pick it up.
I never got an email, nor the phone call they said went out. But, I was seen within 20 minutes to begin the upgrade process, do fairly quick. - I got there at 9:50 am so I was at the door when the store opened -
Upgrading was fairly smooth. I did the next upgrade where I would send my phone back into AT&T. However, it seemed like they didn't know where my phone was so that took a few mins. The associate helping me was super nice and I enjoyed working with him. However, it seemed like he was from a different department of the store and had to ask for help every step of the way.
There was an issue where the printing label never got printed not sure if this was a printing error, or if the button was overlooked.
I didn't get out of Best buy until about 1:15. I was extremely patient as most of this time was my smart switch taking forever to transfer my data. I used to work at the Apple store so I understand these things take time and I just sat quietly and wasn't too bothered.
So when the shipping label never printed, a guy who seemed to be there manager said I can leave phone with him and he would ship it. I was skeptical about this since how would he know who to send it to... I didn't like this idea.
So I called the AT&T store on Los osos and asked if they could take the phone to ship it back to them for me or could reprint my label. The guy over the phone told me yeah no problem we should be able to print a label for you.
So I decided to take the phone and go to AT&T. I understand that this part is now out of Best buy's control, but I would not have had to go through all of this if they didn't just print the label to begin.
Long store short on AT&T end. They couldn't print the label nor find my order number. A lady over the phone gave me an address to send it to. I had to go to UPS and pay over $17 to ship it. And all this was finally done at 3:30 pm.
I am frustrated with Best buy because they do these upgrades everyday. I'm not sure why the label didn't print, but lemme tell ya, IT IS A BIG DEAL SO MAKE SURE IT PRINTS!!!
Also, maybe don't have inexperienced people doing upgrades on a launch day. Or get more support. It seemed very unorganized and I saw other people having issues as well (not sure what their situations were, but a few were told to come back another day).
I just hope you work on this process for future launches and maybe review how to do an AT&T next upgrade.
