IT'S A FUN THING ! My wife and I were up in Cambria for a one week vacation to celebrate her birthday with close family. We arrived at our Airbnb 5 bedroom house ( sleeps 18 ) late on Wednesday April 24th after a very long drive. The incredible panoramic ocean view was our reward ! On Thursday our plan was to buy a bunch of stuff at Whole Foods Market, charge up our Tesla Y at the Tesla Supercharging Station behind Target and then hit the Downtown SLO Farmer's Market at 6pm to meet up with some close family. ALMOST ! Everything was working out perfectly until we tried to find a street parking spot or a parking garage somewhere near the market. NO GO ! All the public parking garages we tried were full and every private parking lot was closed off to market goers. Eventually we nabbed a metered street parking spot within reasonable walking distance at 6.55pm. WHOO HOO ! We met up with all the family members incl our daughter, son-in-law and 2 young grand daughters somewhere in the middle of the market. IT WAS PACKED BEYOND BELIEF ! This was our first visit here in 12 years and just our 3rd visit overall. It has obviously grown in popularity ! Our grand daughters got their cute faces painted and then we started looking for some food. F. McLintocks BBQ looked good so we jumped in the long line.....it moved along surprisingly fast. FUN ! And it was fun watching customers place their orders and then hearing the F. McLintocks' guys ( wearing cowboy hats ) repeat the food order. I ordered a Tri-Tip Sandwich and a fresh made Lemonade while my wife went for a Pulled Pork Sandwich & Corn On The Cob. FAST ! We had our food in our hands fast but then we needed somewhere to sit down and enjoy it. YEAH BABY ! We headed inside F. McLintocks Saloon & Grill virtually next door and planted ourselves at a vacant table. I nearly laughed my head off watching my wife trying to eat her humongous Pulled Pork Sandwich. My succulent Tri-Tip Sandwich and fresh made Lemonade hit the spot perfectly. And my wife loved her delicious Corn On The Cob ( her fav ). Pretty soon after we came in here our kids arrived and grabbed a table nearby to enjoy their Tacos. It was good to get out of the busy street market for a few minutes. After dinner everyone headed their separate ways before meeting us back at our Airbnb house later on. My wife and I wanted to buy some fresh artisan bread and a slab of strawberries. We bought an Apricot Walnut Bread and a plain bread at a stand nearby...both were nice and fresh the next morning but we couldn't taste the apricots in the Apricot Walnut Bread. A bit further along we bought a huge tray of big fat juicy strawberries...and they were very delicious. At around 8pm we called it a day and walked back...

As I gazed over the sea of faces, I realized I was alone. The BBQ sandwich in my hand wouldn't provide me the warmth she once did, but it came close. I gazed at the strawberry vendors, reminiscing on how her face lit up when she peered at them. Her blonde hair flowing in the breeze. Sometimes her nose would brush against the foods, causing us to giggle. Oh how I missed her. The food vendors made small talk once they noticed her absence. They're the real stars of farmers market. I missed brushing her hair as I ate my tacos. She would bark at kids who ran by. We hated kids, that's the only bad thing about farmers. She would get excited and lick my lips, probably tasting the tacos. But the problem is when she would defacate everywhere. A mess. We'd get looks, but it didn't matter to me. God how I...

Downtown SLO Farmer’s Market is a Central Coast must-see attraction for locals and tourists.

This farmer’s market is big and it’s something far more authentic.

It’s a great experience for visitors There are street vendors and local farm stands with many different activities and music.

Sweet and savory street food is available but everyone is different and has their preferences.

We loved the Feral’s tri-tip sandwich. It was very tasty. Unfortunately, it is not on the restaurant menu.

I am always passionate about macarons. I particularly like the raspberry flavor. Monika’s Macarons not only look gorgeous but are also as tasty as they look. I highly recommend the fresh produce from local farmers. It is a little bit pricey but worth every penny. It is always fresh and a...

This is a great downtown for shopping, dining and strolling. Everything is within walking distance. Pay for parking on the street or in parking lots. Maximum parking is three hours. You pay at the kiosk or meter and place the ticket on your front dash board. Handicap parking and access are available. Beautiful tall trees line the sidewalks. The shops and restaurants are right along the main street. You can walk on side of the street than on the other side in the opposite direction so as not to miss anything. There are boutique shops and favorite mall shops on both sides. You have lots of choices of restaurants. We chose SLO Barbeque restaurant. It is a really nice tiwn.

This is by far my favorite farmers market in the country! Small enough to not feel overwhelmed, but they still have everything - live music on every corner, kid zones, lots of great food vendors, delicious produce, lots of handmade goods. And it’s on the Main Street, so plenty of options for grabbing a drink after the market. Some seating options and curb space to enjoy a vendor meal. I like the veggie tomales and Indian plate. I don’t live in the area, but will now plan my trips around this farmers market (Thursday evenings)!
